Brigham Young University quarterback Max Hall threw the game-winning touchdown pass in overtime to lead BYU to a 26-23 win over in-state rival Utah on Saturday. But after the game he was more interested in bad-mouthing his opponents than in celebrating his own success.
"I don't like Utah," Hall said after the game. "In fact, I hate them. I hate everything about them. I hate their program, I hate their fans, I hate everything."
It will be interesting to see how BYU -- which holds itself up as a paragon of virtue in the college football world -- responds to its star player proudly proclaiming his hatred. BYU's regular season is over, and Hall is a senior, so the Cougars' bowl game will be the final game of Hall's career. Some punishment prior to the bowl game may be in order.

awww little is a poor sport. that's what happens when you believe in fairytales.
idiot. Last year Ute fans poored beer on his family and had a blow up doll putting on sex shows in the stands with his Mom's name written on the doll. Give the guy credit for not throwing that out to the public
hahaha... fairytales great one hahah love it!!!!!
so what every one in here has said something like this,I dislike the cowboys
punish him for what???
I would only like to remind Max Hall of two things. T.C.U. and Florida State. where was your trash talk then?. please have a great game in the "We Really Are Mediocre" Bowl that you will end up in.
You stay classy BYU.
I'm a Utah alumnus and what Hall has to say doesn't bother me. I always consider the source of such comments. It's a shame that the game has become secondary. It is unfortunate when given the perfect opportunity to praise BYU, its fans, and its programs, this senior player and team leader didn't.
They used to sell t-shirts in Evanston Wy that said 'Eat, Drink & Be Merry For Tomorrow You Might Be In Utah' I think he should have one.
hahahaha good one.....too much...Utah the only sanctioned Theocracy in the USA hahahaha
Typical classy BYU behaviour.
No need to get upset football is just a game....game.
No class. He's as bad as the people he is insulting. Just plain tacky.
okay people you are being a little dramatic!!!! It's so true about Utah...their fans are rude and obnoxious!!!!! I'm pretty sure Utah has done alot worse than this! So suck it up!
I think it's strange that there has been no corroboration to his claims that Ute fans did those things to his family. I think he's just a whiner who wants to justify his hatred. I think he's self righteous and a hypocrite. For those who don't know the true definition of a hypocrite, here it is; "a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion."
Typical BYU hypocritical behavior. Known by many as one of the dirtiest team in CFB, but the hide behind their Mormon religion and the media buys into it. A bunch of punks. Girls soccer too, the girl that got dropped by the Utah girl instigated the confrontation and got what she deserved. BYU should be called Hypocrite U.
I doubt if any of your bigotry comes from first hand knowledge. Max Hall is human. BYU is made up of human beings. They don't hold themselves up as paragons of virtue, but if you stand for anything at all, the press will make you out as one.
Well, personally I hate BYU and I like Utah, but anyone who has the nuts to come out and say something like that. I AM A FAN OF!!! I don't care about political correctness, this is football, the only sports more violent are boxing and MMA sports like that. If you are worried about getting your feelings hurt maybe you should be on the chess team. I am glad that he came out and said just what he thought! There needs to be more of it now days!
I agree with soonerman. Too many Americans are too accepting of too many things and it is all because of political correctness. If somebody does something stupid and nobody tells them, then how will they know? Keep telling it like it is dude!
I'm not surprised at the hateful remarks by Max..As a former player for Fresno State and eventually a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 1985, I remember a cold rain/snow/ice filled game against Utah State, in which our QB Kevin Sweeney was knocked unconscious and out of the game.I would have never imagine the hatred we experienced by the Utah State fans. Spit, drinks, racist remarks and everything else was displayed by these people. I just looked at the fans, as they yelled until they were red faced, as the true colors of these people was shown. I know football is a game of emotion, grit, and physicality, because I lived it!..But true sportsmanship is the true spirit of the game, when it's all said and done. And being a great host to visitors in whom you don't know, can have a lasting affect on people some 25+ yrs later. That's why I'm saying this today. Love show's no evil to no one. My great grandmother us to say to me. Be nice to folks!!you never know, you may be entertaining an Angel.
Go Bulldogs!!!
