Just maybe the Oklahoma State Cowboys aren't quite ready for the big-time.Faced with a chance to secure the program's first BCS bid, the 11th-ranked Cowboys were brought back to reality as Oklahoma continued its dominance over them with a stunning 27-0 win Saturday in the regular-season ending Bedlam rivarly game at Memorial Stadium.
The loss ended any chance the Cowboys (9-3, 6-2 Big 12), ranked No.12 in the latest BCS poll, had at making a major bowl with representatives from both the Fiesta and Orange Bowls in attendance. They can blame it on a disappointing offensive performance in which the Cowboys had their worse output in years.
Quarterback Zac Robinson, who returned after missing last week with head and shoulder injuries, passed for just 44 yards on 9-of-21 passing for the day. OSU mustered just 109 yards of total offense and went 0-for-14 on third down conversions for the day against the Sooners stout defense.
The Cowboys, who were coming off a three-game winning streak, managed just four yards of offense in the second half and did not have a first down after halftime.
Oklahoma, meanwhile , received outstanding performances from running back DeMarco Murray (two touchdowns) and receiver Ryan Broyles (nine catches for 103 yards), who had an 88-yard punt return for a touchdown in the game. OU quarterback Landry Jones completed 20-of-37 passes for 224 yards. The Sooners conclude a disappointing regular season with a 7-5, 5-3 record.
Oklahoma has now won a national-best 30 straight straight games at home and seven in a row in the Bedlam rivalry series.

OU has Okie States number and has for many years...Just save's OSU from getting embarassed in a BCS bowl..........
Wow how ironic. The same team that Boise State beat in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl just might be the same one that gives them a shot at getting back into it this year. Not saying that Boise would ever win it again, but at least they deserve the chance to give it a shot.
How many over ranked teams lost today? 7?
The BCS will try to set up a TCU-Boise State game
becuase they don't want TCU and Boise State to beat teo vaunted BCS teams. Boise State should play the loser of the Fla-Alabama game in the Sugar Bowl and TCU vs Texas (perfect matchup) in the Orange Bowl. The Fiesta has Cincinnati playing
the winner of the ACC. No Iowa or Penn State this
year. Only the SEC should have two teams in a BCS
game. The Pac10 and Little 11 have Oregon/Oregon
State and Ohio State.
The winner of the ACC playing in the Orange bowl? Will the ACC champion even be ranked this year. No Penn State or Iowa? The last time I checked both are ranked in the top ten along with Ohio State. Three teams from the same conference ranked in the top ten. The SEC or Big 12 can't contest to that.
Little TCU with 8,800 students should get a chance to play for the national championship. They are the only college that has beat 3 teams currently in top 20. (BYU, Utah and Clemson).
