In the middle of a troubled economic climate, most Americans aren't seeing green but the college football world definitely is after Oregon's complete destruction of once mighty USC Saturday night. Our daytime chat missed the wreckage but we're welcoming everyone back for a discussion of that seismic event this Thursday, starting at 2 PM Eastern. There's also this little matter of determining whether LSU is a legitimate stumbling block for suddenly shaky Alabama. That may be the only marquee game of the weekend but overall this week eleven ranked teams will be playing on the road, an always dangerous event in the bloodthirsty fan atmosphere of college football. So please join us once again in our weekly Thursday discussion. Chat application after the jump.

I watch too much college football IMO >> the only nontraditional teams that can take it to any of the top 3 are Cincinatti (SP?) & TCU. The Bearcats have been consistently good all year. TCU has actually improved from week to week and both teams undoubtedly have "rock-em-sock-em" defenses and sporadically explosive offenses that epitomize SPEED KILLS. In fact I believe TCU is probably the best team in Texas and I know Cincy is the best team in Ohio

I agree that Cincy is the best team in OH and TCU would love the opportunity to prove the same in Texas. Big BCS teams don't want to play TCU and Boise State because they could be the next Oregon, bumped out of the national championship because they double clutched against BSU. TCU put it to Virginia and Clemson, then smashed a BYU team that put down OU. The Mountain West is better then the Big East and ACC and could play in their leagues and win. The WAC - probably better than the Big East and at least the equal of the ACC - yet no tickets to the dance.
Tommy Turbeville predicted a BSU-TCU Fiesta Bowl. Sounds great, but would never answer the prime question - how would they stack up against BSC competition. I think a BSU-TCU bowl would be a "separate but equal" attempt to pass the non-BCS leagues off. TCU played Boise State last year in the Poinsettia bowl and beat them 17-16. we don't need a repeat this year.
Rose: Iowa v. Oregon*
Sugar: Alabama v. Penn State* (Alabama doesn't want to get it's ass whipped my another non-BCS team
Fiesta Bowl: Cincinatti v. TCU*
Orange Bowl: Ga. Tech v. Boise State*
Nat'l Champ: Florida v. Texas*

Dr. Beasley,
I hope you are not ignorant enough to place any monetary bets on those teams you showed to win your fantasy football bowl matchups.
If you do place those bets, it wont take you long before you will be standing in line at the government bailout sessions.
