BATON ROUGE, La. -- University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow has been cleared by the Gators' medical staff to play in tonight's game against No. 4 LSU, and will start against the Tigers.

Earlier, Tebow jogged past LSU's caged Mike the tiger onto the Tiger Stadium turf at 5:48 CT.

He hugged a couple of teammates in the end zone.

Wearing his blue game pants and blue T-shirt, Tebow ran around the field, playing catch with a UF assistant. He even was running some routes and catching the ball.

In limited duty this season, Brantley has completed 22 of 30 for 232 yards and four TDs.

Earlier this week, Meyer said he has a lot of confidence in Brantley.

"We would like to have him have more game reps at this point, but it's not like he's going in there by himself," Meyer said earlier this week. "He's got 10 other guys on offense to take care of him. The Pounceys, Riley Cooper and three backs will be there.

"He had a great week in practice. He's gets the ball out real fast. Things will change a bit; it's obvious. That doesn't mean we are going to abandon the running game which has been so good for us. He has strengths and is very mature."
