The Iowa Hawkeyes rode five Michigan turnovers to a 30-28 victory in Iowa City tonight. The victory was their tenth in a row, which is the second-longest winning streak in the nation after Florida.Iowa's passing game took control after quarterback Ricky Stanzi's first pass was intercepted by Michigan's Brandon Moore and returned for a touchdown. Stanzi threw two touchdown passes, both to tight end Tony Moeaki.
The Hawkeyes' 33-quarter streak of not allowing a rushing touchdown ended in the first quarter when Brandon Minor busted in from three yards out to put Michigan up 14-10. Iowa regained the lead just before halftime and would not relinquish it.
The Iowa pass defense, one of the Big Ten's stingiest, rattled Tate Forcier, who completed only 8 of 19 passes for 94 yards. Forcier was replaced by fellow freshman Denard Robinson, who led the Wolverines to a touchdown which he ran in himself from three yards out. Michigan's defense stopped Iowa after the ensuing onside kick went out of bounds, but Iowa's Brett Greenwood intercepted Robinson with 46 seconds left to finish off the Wolverines.
With Ohio State's victory over Wisconsin today, the Hawkeyes are now the Big Ten's only undefeated team. The Hawkeyes now face back-to-back road games against Wisconsin and Michigan State. Michigan fell to 4-2 and will face Delaware State in Ann Arbor next week.

Iowa is a long ways yet from being a contender. Michigan made too many mistakes and with road trips like Wisconsin,,Mich state,, and Ohio State it's still a long season for them. All that aside woohoo they won!

Michigan's Defense has not improved at all since game one. 284 passing yards from one of the least effective offenses in the big ten is pretty pathetic. Maybe Rich Rod should stop screaming at his players and teach them something. Forcier has a lot to learn and Robinson is a running back.
And yes, Iowa has a lot to prove against some of the better teams in the Big Ten. The game against OSU could end up being a 3-0 game in the end considering the two defenses.

Mich folks... guess what... your defense is as good as it is going to get.... RR doesn't coach defense... never has and never will... that is precisely why he lost to South FLA (who had a defense) most years... you cannot outscore the big 10 every week. The trash he used in WVU will not work in the big 10.. the defenses are too good and the offenses are designed for ball control so you don't get that many opportunities. Not to say MICH won't have good seasons... but will never win them all in the big 10 playing defense like his teams play defense. Your undersized "athletic" D line got beat up against Iowa... not due to lack of hustle or trying, just the size and strength of the line is not there.. that is how RR recruits and plays.

Iowa has a strong defense that has played well all season. The offense has been hot and cold. Luckily they have been better on the big games and have managed so far to be unbeaten. If Stanzi can gain better control and be more consistent on his passing accuracy. He tends to force balls into coverage and get intercepted or throws behind his receivers but he has a good arm and when hes on looks good. Its a tough schedule ahead but if Stanzi improves they have a chance to get through it.

Rich Rodriguez needs to leave. Nothing pretty about this years team. Mistakes gallore, too many penalties because of his decisions not enough coaching and managing. He's a discrace, a complete failure. Bye Bye RR.
