Florida hasn't hit the field to play LSU, but already the Tigers have Gator quarterback John Brantley's number. His cell phone number, in fact. Yes, those crazy Cajuns have struck again, discovering the phone number of projected Gators starting quarterback John Brantley and doing pesky things with it like you'd expect an amateur fan base to do.This is sort of old hat for LSU, as its fans also figured out how to reach out and touch opponents such as Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson and Georgia back Knowshon Moreno. They're rumored to have also discovered the numbers for several other Florida players and even coach Urban Meyer. At this rate they're probably not to far from reaching President Barack Obama with a different kind of 3 AM call if his health care push upsets them too much.
Actually, they could probably take a lesson the president is fast learning -- sometimes the more you're seen, the less effective you are as prestige diminishes. After the stunt's initial victory over Tebow's Gators in 2007, they've dropped the last two such crank call games, the targeted players defiantly making on field 'call me' gestures. They could definitely lose on Saturday, leaving a smoldering mess of the perceived effectiveness of the phone stalk.
This is one of those rare times I'm with Dr. Saturday and calling for an end to this silly stuff. It was funny if outrageous the first time, increasingly desperate, depraved and amateur once escalated.

GEAUX LSU TIGERS! With or without Tim Tebo, LSU must play with intensity the entire game. Even though they appear to be improving and their defense continues to impress, they must play much better this Saturday in Death Valley to beat Florida.
As a registered nurse I know full well how dangerous a serious concussion can be especially if that person puts himself at risk of having a second head injury. Tim Tebo and his parents seem like they have their priorities in the right order. His health and well-being should be the #1 consideration regardless of any kind of sport or championship. Besides, a championship team (or any "team" for that matter) is more than one player; a true "team" is the sum of many different God-given gifts and abilities. A genuine championship team is able to face any challenge, in fact they relish it.
I love LSU more than any other Tiger fan, but I want the two best teams to meet one another on the field so that victory can be savored without tarnish.
