Yankee Bowl Set for Official Announcement Wednesday

The Big East and Big 12 conferences will announce their participation in the Yankee Bowl Wednesday in a press conference at Yankee Stadium.

FanHouse first reported the participants for the new Yankee Bowl two weeks ago.



The Yankee Bowl will get the fourth selection from the Big East and the seventh selection from the Big 12. The bowl will be played beginning after the 2010 regular season.

With the addition of the Yankee Bowl, the Big East's bowl lineup for the 2010-13 cycle will consist of: BCS (league champion), Champs Sports in Orlando (second selection or Notre Dame), Meineke Car Care in Charlotte, N.C. (third selection), Yankee in New York (fourth selection), and Papajohns.com in Birmingham, Ala. and St. Petersburg in St. Petersburg, Fla., will share the fifth and sixth selections.
