There was a ton of promise surrounding him, but former Michigan quarterback Justin Feagin never realized any of it. Brought in to compete for the starting quarterback job in the spread offense run by head coach Rich Rodriguez, Feagin never really got close. In July, he was kicked off the football team, with Rodriguez citing the ever-popular "violation of team rules." Reports he was going to transfer to Appalachian State have been rebuffed. As it turns out, the Detroit Free Press says it was more than just team rules Feagin violated. He also broke the basic laws of society.
The newspaper claims Feagin was involved in a cocaine deal that eventually led to a fire at a university dorm room. After dropping that bombshell, the article goes into detail about Feagin's relationship with drugs.
"I have admitted to people I know that I used to sell drugs in Florida," Feagin told investigators, according to police reports the Free Press obtained under Michigan's Freedom of Information Act.Obviously, there are problems, and they played a role in Feagin's departure from the university. In fact, the Free Press says Rodriguez kicked him off the team shortly after Feagin admitted the drug deal to police. They also appear to have played a role in Feagin's inability to get into Appalachian State.
Feagin said he had not sold drugs in Michigan. But fellow student T.J. Burke, who had met Feagin through Michigan walk-on receiver Ricky Reyes, told police "it was common knowledge that Feagin sold marijuana" and that Feagin "hung out at our house lots of times smoking pot."
The dual-threat quarterback was a late recruit to Michigan in 2008, after Rodriguez got the job. Feagin was a finalist for Florida's Mr. Football honors, which is saying something given Florida's reputation for developing top football players.
Instead of becoming a top quarterback in the spread at Michigan, Feagin will likely never realize his true on-field potential.

Yes! No second chances for anyone ever! Let no man seek redemption for what he did in his teens and early 20's!

What a moron! I mean seriously! I can see why some people get caught up in this lifestyle, but why throw away such an awesome opportunity? Some people don't get second chances. I hope this was worth throwing everything away...

DOES ANYONE WONDER WHY A PERSON CAN BE DISTROYED SMOKING/DEALING POT WHEN A NUMBER OF STATES ALLOW IT TO BE SOLD?

For all you people whom think pot kills and is bad Why is it the pharmceutical companies can dispense depression drugs, and even chiantix, which is a drug to help smokers quit smoking have strong warnings of could cause suicidal thoughts, which could lead to suicide? Because only they can make them, and profit off of stuff that is far worse then pot. The powers that be control, and they can't very well profit off of something that anyone can grow. Pot is legal in at least 6 states now for medicinal use. People voted for it, and the federal goverment won't recognize that. I, in my 37 years of being aware of pot, have never known anyone to od or die from it. I have seen more lives ruined by the legal alcohol, people dead, and people hit in cars by the legal drug. Of course alcohol is produced by big companies who profit also. The public is mostly a bunch of lemmings that are so afraid, and will let the powers that be brainwash them. Sorry state of affairs.
The past 2 Presidents of our country have admitted to coke use and pot. Both two different men with opposite ideologys, but they had money behind them too. All the hypocrisy makes me sick.

Hey Ed...I say that users and sellers are the same.
They BOTH are part of an industry that kills thousands each year and corrupts every govt in the world just about.I hope everyone involved both buyers and sellers get what they deserve in Hell.

This is about another selfish young athlete who thought he could break the LAW, and get away with it! Selling drugs is unconscionable, no matter who you are! This kid bears no comparison to M Phelps, who only toked at a party to try to fit in! (and he paid dearly) Feagan was dealing, selling that crap to others for profit! NO EXCUSES!! He had no reason to do that! He should be in jail!

Wow, you must be white to make a statement like that... Flat out.. The kid must be kicked off the team. you cannot break team rules. I'm sure smoke'n or selling weed has got to be one of the team rules. Decriminalize Marijuana! Should the kid go to jail for allegidly selling weed and smoke'n it in someones house... No. Should M. Phelps be thrown in jail for smoke'n weed.. NO! Because this kid admitted to selling cocaine back home in Fl leads me to believe he did it becuase of his surroundings and possibly a way to make money for food and everyday necessities... If that's all you know when your growing up and then offered a chance to play football halfway across the country on a full scholarship... Your way of life is still the same... The young man needed more guidence and mentoring... Sure your food books classes and housing are paid for. But if anyone has ever gone to college for any periode of time you know that there is more than books room and board that you will need money for... It's a social setting, you want to fit in... Maybe you want to do something nice for someone of the opposite sex... Usally this takes money! If you don't come from money, You can't work do to scholarship rules, You need cash to go to the mall or movies... You end up resorting to what you know. I'm not saying what he did was right. Infact it was very wrong, which is why he is off the team no doubt. But instead of washing our hands with this young man and sending him to prison for the rest of his life, why not offer him encouragement, mentoring, community service and an education so he can become a productive member of society rather than a burden by being encarcerated, or sent back home to Fl to get back into what he knows... That's just my long winded take on the situation....
Go Blue! I hate osu........
