Preseason predictions can be found from all sorts of different sources. Virtually everyone who has an opinion will offer them up, even video games.EA Sports has announced the results of their college football simulation for the 2009 season. While some of the bowl predictions might surprise you, their choice for national champion absolutely will not.
At least, not the team winning.
More Coverage: Tebow or Bradford? EA Sims Major Awards, Including Heisman
It may surprise you that EA has Penn State playing for the national title. The Nittany Lions aren't even picked by many "experts" to win the Big Ten this season.
Their opponent in that simulated national championship game is Florida. That the Gators are gaining many preseason accolades should come as a shock to absolutely no one. This team appears to be loaded, and while they did win the national championship last season, it doesn't sound like they're all that satisfied with just winning one.
EA's simulation has the Gators pounding Penn State 45-14 in the final. Tim Tebow -- er, QB No. 15 -- is projected to throw for 39 touchdowns while running for 11 more over a 14-0 seas
on for the Gators. The BCS buster, according to EA Sports, will be Boise State. The Broncos are placed in the Fiesta Bowl, where they lose to Oklahoma, 37-30. While it seems kind of odd to see Boise State in a BCS bowl over candidates like BYU and Utah, and even darkhorses like Southern Mississippi and TCU, the real strange part of this simulation is Oklahoma winning the Big 12. While Sam Bradford -- er, QB No. 14 -- figures to keep his team in games thanks to his arm and knowledge of the OU offense, Texas is arguably the favorite in the Big 12.

Other BCS bowls -- as simulated by EA Sports -- had Virginia Tech edging Georgia 28-21 in the Orange Bowl, West Virginia beating Oklahoma State 31-25 in the Sugar Bowl, and USC a 24-10 winner over Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.

EA Sports predicts that Florida will be the nation's lone unbeaten team when the smoke clears in January. Only USC, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Penn State are predicted to be one-loss teams.

Being an Oklahoma State fan and alum, I would consider a Sugar Bowl berth to be a tremendously successful season.
However, your comment that Texas is "widely considered to be the heavy favorite" to win the Big 12 is flat out wrong. Just last week, the media poll predicting the Big 12 South standings was a flat out tie between Oklahoma and Texas. Most every prediction I have seen says it will be very, very close between OU and UT, with a chance of O-State spoiling both of their national champtionship plans.

I thought I kept up pretty good, no, I did keep up pretty good. Tebow 's ball hog, showmanship tendencies will cost Florida 3 losses. Ohio St. should be be ranked where they should be every year, somewhere around 50th, until they play somebody during the season and almost beat them, they should not be in the championship game losing by 30 points again.
No mention of the best team in the country with Heisman running back, the LSU Tigers. Scott should blow everyone out of the water with a stellar year and a Heisman winner.
Virginia Tech, Okie St., Utah, etc., etc.,geez give us a break. SEC wins the National Championship again whether it is LSU, Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama, Tennessee or any of the others. Bet SEC and you get rich

All I can say is "HOTTY TODDY" the only team that Florida is scared of is OLE MISS and they dropped them from their schedule this year -- didn't want a repeat of last year.
OLE MISS 31 --- National Champions 30
