Every Monday during college football's endless offseason, The FanHouse Walk will put last week's stories to bed and deliver the essentials to bridge that agonizing space between now and September.Maybe They'll Twitter er Tweet Their Decision -- USC has begun spring practice, headlined by a four-man race for the starting quarterback job. They're doing this with SarKiffian 2.0, newly hired offensive coordinator John Morton and quarterbacks coach/playcaller Jeremy Bates. Bates departed Denver just in time to avoid the mess that is Cutler vs. McDaniels while keeping a low, low profile.
There's a lot going on, which leaves Pete Carroll skeptical if he can settle on the next American Idol quarterback by the end of spring. Our hunch is it'll be the slightly scrawny Aaron Corp, kid can move.
Heir Apparents -- Jerry Rice's son will walk on at UCLA and yes, he's a receiver. Don't get too excited however, since despite his big name he could only conjure up a single
Meanwhile, Joe Montana's son Nick (a quarterback, of course) is hitting the campus tour circuit this spring at places like Notre Dame, Alabama and Ohio State.
CBS Money Good, Supplement Maker Money Bad -- The Big 12 conference has dropped Training Day, a supplement manufacturer, as a sponsor after a newspaper questioned the partnership. The NCAA prohibits schools from supplying creatine-based products to their athletes.
The Austin-American Statesman reports that the company is still listed as a "corporate partner" on the Big 12 website.
In a statement, ESPN said, "ESPN, the Big 12 and Training Day have re-evaluated Training Day's product offerings and core target and concluded that a shift in marketing strategies would better suit Training Day's needs. To that end, all involved are in ongoing discussions."
For now, Training Day remains a "Big 12 media partner," Corr-Jensen Labs founder Matt Hesse said. "A corporate sponsor is a higher level. It was a little premature."

-- I love Get The Picture, but you know its the offseason when a scholarship offer to a Polish kicker generates two posts and hundreds of words from a focused writer.
-- How would you respond to Nick Saban telling you 1)you can start at Alabama as a sophomore but if you don't go there 2)he'll turn you into the NCAA?
If you're Bobby Massie, you choose Ole Miss while slamming the Alabama cap at your signing day ceremony.
-- I couldn't be more curious about what will become of Washington quarterback Jake Locker. He's a ridiculously talented runner, for a quarterback. He's also not much of a passer (so far). Now he's going to have to pick up Steve Sarkisian's pure dropback pro system on a winless team. Bad mix or really, really bad mix?
