Lane Kiffin Quote Now Displayed in Florida's Locker Room

Recently the GatorTailgating.com website was invited to tour Florida's Heavener Football Complex inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. They obliged, took photos, and made an interesting discovery along the way: a sheet posted in the locker room (right) quoting new Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin.

It reads "I'm really looking forward to embracing some of the great traditions at the University of Tennessee, for instance the Vol Walk, running through the T, singing Rocky Top all night long after we beat Florida next year, it will be a blast". And yes, that last part was bolded and underlined in a larger font size.

It's evident that the Tennessee/Florida game, however much a mismatch, is the early favorite for the most-anticipated college football game of 2009. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 19th, in The Swamp. Kiffin is clearly under Florida coach Urban Meyer's skin, after calling him out for a recruiting violation that wasn't. Meyer has avoided public comment on the accusation, but his terse non-response to a lone query about it says plenty.

If grabbing headlines count for anything, Kiffin's had a great last few days. We discovered on Monday that he'd told a recruit he'd end up pumping gas if he chose South Carolina over Tennessee. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Tennessee cut ties with this buffoon before the season even started.Whoever hired him should be shown a direct path out of town as well.I am no Gator fan by any stretch,but Tenn. should can this bozo and issue a formal apology to Urban Meyer and UF asap.

Before being hired, I heard it said, "will Lane Kiffin fit the TN culture?" Well, no. But who cares? If he wins games and takes control of the SEC, including FL, all the smack talk turns into reality. Only then will he become "the coach" we all hope he is.

Kiffin is a genius... he was Florida thinking all off season about a team they have beat the ever living hell out of the last two years and have a lot more talent than because of being located in Florida.

Florida should have not even acknowledged it but by doing this they are doing exactly what Kiffin wanted.

Little Laney is going to make his daddy mad if he keeps this up. Then the Vols won't have any coach at all. Maybe Fulmer didn't make as many stupid comments as Laney because he always had his mouth full. What an idiot poor Tennessee had to hire for coach since no one else wanted the position. Go SEC! UF is going to give TN a historic beating on 9/19/09. Seriously, look at history. Piss off Urban, get the sh*t beaten out of you. The only way to beat him is to sneak up on him with humility (Ole Miss) or play him when Tim Tebow is gone. The entire SEC is circling the date when they play TN now..even bad teams are going to kick them in the nuts. It's going to be a fun story line. Hey, I hear Ohio State is going to contend or the national championship too ... bwwaahahahahahahaha.

Honestly, who cares about the controversy because college football is whack. It's so lame the way it is setup without a playoff system. Make college football relevant by changing the structure of it and then maybe this story will have some relevance.
