Considering Michigan went 3-9 last season, Rich Rodriguez has a pretty impressive class rolling into Ann Arbor. It's not as strong as it could be, though. Defensive tackle DeQuinta Jones -- once a Michigan commit -- reportedly signed his letter of intent with Arkansas.Jones is the second potential Wolverine to say "No thanks" and head elsewhere on signing day. Earlier, Pearlie Graves, another defensive lineman, eschewed Michigan for Texas Tech.
Rodriguez called into ESPN's "First Take" for an interview on Wednesday morning. He talked extensively about the negative recruiting tactics opposing schools used this year against Michigan -- telling recruits that the team would never adjust to Rodriguez's system, that he couldn't be trusted to keep guys at their preferred positions and, obviously, that Michigan would continue to struggle on the field.
The Wolverines still have 21 players in a solid class despite losing Graves and Jones -- including quarterback Denard Robinson, who picked Michigan over Florida -- but keeping one or both of those guys would have bumped them further up the overall rankings, without a doubt.
FanHouse takes you into the belly of the college football beast that is recruiting. We'll be around before, during and after Signing Day '09.

Rich Rodriguez can't be trusted? Imagine that. I would never let my son play for a coach like Rich Rodriguez. Did anyone wonder why veteran players bailed when Rich Rodriguez was hired as the coach at Michigan? Most cited his character...or lack thereof.

That's a very small number leaving for such a horrible coach. C'mon! It's a completely new offensive. Spread, versus power run. Sometimes one must fall just to be able to rise. For to rise, you will see your enemies eyes.
