Mark Sanchez had a pretty good run at USC this year. The team went to the Rose Bowl, pummeled Penn State and has a legit argument to be the national champion. And he enjoyed his run so much that he's leaving sunny Southern California and heading to the NFL. It seems like an odd thing to do, I suppose, because, well, USC would be a fun place to live and he would be the most popular guy on campus. On the other hand, it makes a whole hell of a lot of sense from a business perspective.
USC is losing a large number of its defensive core to the NFL. But aside from that, think about the various competitors for draft slots he'll be going up against this year versus the potential competition next season.
This year: Matthew Stafford and Nate Davis.
Next year? Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford (he's definitely not leaving this year) and Colt McCoy. That's just for starters, obviously, but it's a pretty decent little list. Sanchez will probably be the second guy on most quarterback boards; he'll at least be behind Stafford, but he'll end up making a bunch more bank now than he would in the future, so it's not totally shocking to see him bounce to the pros. Besides, Pete Carroll has like 40,000 more five-stars in waiting anyway.

it goes both ways. im a big usc fan. i hate to admit it but i think its the right decision for him to leave the land of troy. he can easily be the 2nd top QB in this years draft. next year tebow, mc coy, bradford, leaving is a deep QB class. he is better than mc coy no question bout that. he's got the better arm then all the guys on this years QB LIST AND PROBABLY NEXT YEARS TOO. HOPEFULLY THE RAMS TRADE BACK FOR HIM. I'D HATE TO SEE HIM IN A RAIDER OR LIONS JERSEY!!!

LMAO USC could not have beat the Gators in 08 and Sanchez knows it! He also knows the Gators would be in the NCG again in 09 so he beats feet for the No Fun League!
Go Gators! Can you say Three-Bow in 09! The only NCAA QB to ever have played in and won 3 National Championships! All the Returning Gator seniors will be part of history in 09! It is GREAT to be a FLORIDA GATOR!

Get Realistic. If Florida played against SC like they did against CHOKElahoma they would have been destroyed. Again, the BCS (Bull SH##Championship series) missed it. Besides, UTAH should be National Champion this year! It's easy for the Fans of the team lucky enough to get the Poll grease to claim it after winning the Farce Game.SC is the ONLY team to go to 8 straight BCS games and win, uh huh, 7 of the 8 and only losing the one by Three! FIGHT ON!

No wonder the SEC is in position every year to go to the BCS Championship game. Laugh at their Non-league schedules for the Top OVERATED SEC Teams.
Florida- Charleston Southern, Troy, Florida International (Now that schedule deserves Top Ten ranking!)
BAMA- Florida International, North Texas, Virginia Tech (Only top 25 team)
LSU- UL Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, Tulane (These Teams are really National powers!)
Why don't they end the argument and schedule USC as a Non-League? because they don't want the Loss! FIGHT ON!

LMAO and USC plays all the good teams? The first five games of USC's 2009 schedile are a bunch of panzies and then the rest of the schedule our High School teams here in Florida could rip apart!

Obviously Gator is as ignorant as the BCS. I beleive the Pac 10 was the only one to win all their Bowl Games. Including one over BYU, who Utah allowed more Points then Overated Alabama. Correct me if I am wrong, didn't UTAH rip apart Alabama? Huh? Huh? Again, put up or shut up. Schedule USC, Dreamer, instead of the Florida school of Knitting!! Even lowly UCLA beat a supposed Pre season top 20 in Tenessee(Note Tennesee has a Pac 10 Head Coach now, which tells you all the Talent is West Coast (writers have always been biased against the West Coast Teams, had no choice with a dominant SC Team!)!! SC has a all time record of 17-10 and 1 against the SEC, including a mopping of the Legend Bear Bryant. FIGHT ON!
