When it comes to Tim Tebow, the sports media is just a wee bit prone to overstatement. On the one hand you have the Fox announcers embarrassing themselves last night with their excessive gushing. And on the other hand, you have certain draft "experts" going ridiculously over the top in diminishing Tebow's skills as a quarterback.
ESPN's Mike Greenberg perfectly encapsulated both of those media tendencies today on Mike and Mike in the Morning.
"He could be the president of the United States some day," Greenberg said. "And he has a better chance of that than he does being an NFL quarterback. ... It's just true. ... I can't believe anyone who doesn't think that."
I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with Greenberg there: Of the two jobs, I think Tebow is more likely to become NFL quarterback than United States president.
I'm not particularly high on Tebow's prospects as a pro quarterback, but there's at least a 50-50 chance that he'll improve as a passer, work on his slow delivery, adjust to a pro-style offense and play quarterback in the NFL at some point. I would place Tebow's chances of occupying the Oval Office at a little below 50 percent. I can't believe that Greenberg can't believe that everyone doesn't think that.

How can Texas Tech be ranked ahead of OLE MISS in the final rankings? Didn't Ole Miss just beat them in the Cotton Bowl?

Wasn't Tebow born in the Philippines thus making his chances of becoming president equal to Zero?

Omg! Tebow for President?? Those Fox announcers need to get their heads out of his u know what? Florida numer 1?? Not in my book. They barely beat Kentucky in the weak SEC. Utah is number 1 in my mind. They beat the best team in the SEC. And i am so tired of the media kissing Florida and USCs behind when they can go out and buy whoever they want and dont say the dont do it.The BCS is a sham and someone needs to wake up and smell the coffee. They say if it aint broke dont fix it. Well, it is broke and it damn well needs to be fixed.

I agree with Kenny. I am not a Utah, OU, or Florida fan, but Utah deserves a piece of the pie. USC lost to Oregon St and didnt' Utah beat Oregon St?!?!? Ridiculous. For those of you that can't wait for Fox and the BCS to be done with their agreement, it will only get worse once ESPN has the rights. You think ESPN has too much influence now, just wait - it will get worse. ESPN drools over USC and OU. They bash Ohio St for their failures but they don't touch OU's failures.

I agree. Simple solution. Play the bowl games so the rich get richer and then when the2y are done, lets let number 1 and number 2 battle for a real champion. Oh wait! That makes too much sense.

I love Tim Tebow and his passion, but he can't become President of the US because he was born in the Phillipines. Although, that didn't stop Obama from winning.

I doubt if he'll make it to pres. John 3:16 tatooed on your face is a little out of vogue right now. We've pretty much evaluated the sincerity of this bunch over the past eight years. War,
fraud, terrible management, stupidity etc. etc. etc. Best stick to football and live by the law of the land - public schools can't advertise religion even if Tim, God's little helper, thinks he has, because he's a great football player, that right.
