FanHouse gathers around the TV to bring you insights from Bowl Season '08.
This is the big one, the final game of the 2008-2009 college football season between national powers Oklahoma and Florida. All week there's been grousing about the legitimacy of the BCS or lack thereof, whether this is even a championship game, blah blah blah.
Who cares! Its an incredible matchup between the most productive offense in modern college football history and one of the fastest teams in college football history. The last two Heisman Trophy winners -- Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford and Florida moose of a man Tim Tebow -- will be on the field. We've got South vs. Southwest, two explosive offenses, at least one team that has shown it can play defense, all the bright lights and a truckload of expectations.
Our FanHouse BCS Championship Game Live Blog will commence at 8 PM ET. Be there. Chat application after the jump.

Good thing these guys don't have a playoffs. It's only been 6 weeks since either played. How could you possibly fit in 2 games in that timeframe.
I say the jesus freak QB wins it.
FYI, the BCS is a joke. This site said it perfectly

I WILL SAY ONLY ONE THING 13-0. Utah was 12-0 beat Alamaba that was #1 for how many weeks in row. I dont care who wins tonight if Utah is not #1 tomorrow there is something wrong with the whole system. One way to fix this have a playoff and the top 10 teams play in the BCS bowl games

Am I the only one that thinks the two yahoos that are calling the game are terrible. They state the obvious and then don't know what down it is on a goal to go situation. I had to turn down the volume. Is this the best fox can come up with???

your so right that was the worst broadcasted game ever. it was like a high school game. and where were the umps with unnessecary roughness. tebow got a knee to the head as the linebacker got up after the play in the second quarter. what was up with the horse collar. and percy getting wrapped on the ankle and wrenched on well after the play was dead right in front on the line judge. it was a great game but, it was truelly was an amature display of braodcasting and umping.

Last time I checked in football all that mattered was the score on the board. All I hear is how good these two teams are. How can they be playing for the championship. And one more thing Im sick of hearing the sports writers saying blah, blah, blah. We are upset at how things are going. They say its not a big deal. Look at how many millions of dollars these schools confrances are getting. Would be nice if the smaller schools was able to get some of that.

all that matters in football is the score on the board. This is not the stanley cup playoffs.

Lovin' it. Not watching the game (refuse to) but liking what the score indicates. What happened to Florida smoking a team with the all time fastest team against a no defense OU? Again, overhype, as usual. If this doesn't spell out split national title, I don't know what does. And now the BCS commissioner is defending their system even more that ever. With this "supposed" title game playing out the way it is, he better be. Down with the BCS!

I think that the MVP for Florida should be Kevin Wilson since he took Bradford out of the game in the second quarter. Run left just like in the Texas game. I thought that I was seeing a replay of that game. Both defenses did great, but that play calling was simply bad on OU's part on the offense. You have one of the best Quarterbacks in the nation and you have him handing off? It is bad when I can sit on my couch and know what the next play will be. Florida watched their game tapes and used them to stop OU. Maybe it is time for a gut check at OU and look at the coaching ability. They do great in the games until they get in a mind set to run the same type of play over and over again once it works. Try something different for awhile then go back to it. Again good game Florida you did what you had to do and never took Tebow out of the game. When will Stoops and Wilson learn? Five years is enough!

I'm a nuetral participant in this BCS Game with my eyes on both "Supposed" quarterbacks in the NCAAF. I am very disappointed as it isn't even halftime and I am truly wondering why Sam Bradford was even considered and then awarded the Heisman Trophy this year.
As i've always been told and taught; it's the players attention to the "TEAM" aand his ability to show "Leadership" that will prove him to be the most qualified player to receive that high prestigious award.
Well so far as every person watching this game can see is the pure fact that this Quarterback cannot even make a play yet a decision during each of his possesions on what to do without constantly looking to the sideline,,annoyingly and repeatedly at what he should do next.
This just proves that he is in no way whatsoever to be deserving of being awarded the Heisman or even considered for it as he completely lacks leadership skills and that of making a decision.
I don't know the outcome of this game yet, however, Eventhough Tim Tebow does make mistakes as everyone in this world does; he shows his leadership skills and traits not only to us, the viewer and the fan, but he also shows that he is a team player and the game is not all about him.
It seems that it might have been in the best interest of those higher ups who have money invested in the "game" that if Tim Tebow were to be awarded the Heisman instead of Sam Bradford,, well there wouldn't be as much interest in fans watching the game as there would be when you place two Heisman Award winners against each other.
That makes perfect sense that these games that used to be enjoyable sporting events have only become that of greedy money makers and it just is not enjoyable watching things like that at all.
I look forward to the very soon future where there is a final championship game in college football as there is for the NFL.
Too many rediculous ways to make more money by having poor teams playing in several bowl games.
Have your playoffs in college in the same way the NFL does it, and then that which becomes worthy of the National Championship does so at one Bowl Game which changes its location year to year.
I know i'm not the only one who agrees on this and it's been said over and over that the Heisman award should be voted on by the fans and determined by the fans.
It's really very simple and it's called "Voting"!!!

Weakness was shown from oklahoma's side by the many times they punted the ball instead of going for it... The ball should have not been punted unless they were on their own 20 you have to go for it everytime in this type of a game & the field goal attempt what was that all about
