The 2008-2009 Sugar Bowl has arrived, featuring SEC runner-up Alabama and Mountain West champion Utah. Utah's attempting to win an improbable second BCS game and finish the season undefeated while Alabama hopes to springboard into a potential championship 2009 season with a victory.
The ghost of Bear Bryant is most certainly watching, you should too, particularly is Utah pulls a Boise State and slays one heck of a giant.

This bowl game is lose-lose for Alabama. If they win, well they should have won and if they lose they aren't the team everyone thought they were.

Although we'll have to wait and see what happens with Texas/Ohio State and Florida/Oklahoma, so far the results tend to show that both the Big-12 (Mississippi beating Texas Tech and Oregon beating Oklahoma State) and the SEC (Utah beating Alabama) were overrated. Meanwhile, Utah (undefeated) and USC (with lopsided victories over both Ohio State and Penn State) were not given enough credit by the eastern-biased polls. If Texas does not beat Ohio State convincingly and if Florida does not defeat Oklahoma convincingly, it would certainly appear that the BCS did not get either of the top two teams into the championship game.
