That's right, "desperate" was the word we were looking for; hopefully you bubbled "C" just in case. And as if Les Miles wasn't just ridiculous enough, now the word is that Mike Leach might be talking with the Huskies.And not just talking -- he was allegedly on a plane to meet/see/whatever the mess he's not really doing there.
Texas Tech coach Mike Leach , wearing a baseball hat, T-shirt, and tennis shoes, flew to Seattle yesterday afternoon from Las Vegas on Alaska Flight 601, according to a fellow passenger.Okay, presuming that this was actually Leach on the plane and not some other dude that could completely look like the Texas Tech head coach, does it really mean anything? Of course not.
"I'm positive it was him,'' said Dave Christophersen, who said he immediately recognized Leach and had it reinforced when Leach's wife, Sharon, was called to the counter to upgrade to first class. Flight 601 is scheduled to leave each day at 11:20 a.m. and arrive in Seattle at 2:03 p.m.
So the obvious assumption is that Leach flew to Seattle to interview for the UW head coaching job.
Seattle's a fun town. I've been there once -- it didn't rain, I drank coffee and there were lots of fish for sale down by the dock. Additionally, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Ichiro are awesome. So, yeah, tons of reasons to go there aside from interviewing with the Washington Huskies for a job I didn't really want or wasn't really interested in taking.
Oh yes, also: Texas Tech is on the rise. Whether or not they're going to a BCS bowl this year is irrelevant; Leach has taken a program and made it his own, and the only way it would make sense for him to roll out for Washington is for, well, actually it doesn't, unless they're offering $20 million a year. Either that or proof that Courtney Love is guilty.

You need to get offline if you don't know what you are talking about. Leach applied for this job when Willingham was chosen and he was in Seattle earlier this week to interview. Find out the facts before you start posting inaccurate information.

Did anyone check flight schedules from Lubbock to Seattle? The best flights make a connection in DFW on AA. LBB->DFW->Seattle.
Unless he was in Vegas for some other reason, or the flights were packed, making a connection in Vegas would add 3 hours onto his schedule.
An itenerary involving the Alaska Airlines flight does not even show up in the more popular airline reservation systems. Even the shortest schedule from Lubbock involves nearly 7 hours with the connection in DFW.
He might be able to do better on Southwest, but that is not what was reported.
Yeah, he was really in Seattle. It's been confirmed. And yeah, Courtney Love is guilty.
