Coaching searches are crazy and a lot of crazy stuff gets said during them, but come the heck on here:Another rumor making the rounds is that the Huskies might be interested in LSU coach Les Miles, who interviewed at UW in 2004 when Willingham was hired. That's right, kids: the Seattle Times is speculating that a guy coming off a national championship at a powerhouse SEC program and getting paid one dollar more than Nick Saban who turned down his alma mater last year will leave for Washington. Which is 0-12. And has no particular connection to Les Miles whatsoever. And is still 0-12.
So I ask you, commenters of FanHouse: has anything dumber ever been suggested? Did a newspaper ever claim that the corpse of Bear Bryant would be reanimated and take over at Auburn? Because that's all I got as far as more outlandish scenarios.

That Notre Dame was going to return to Glory.
That RichRod will be leaving for TN or Clemson if UofM can work something out with them, courtesy of Mark May. Seriously, that guy needs to go play in traffic.
Les Miles is the very most OVER rated coach in history. After Alabama beats him for the 5th or 6th time in a row people will figure out that all Miles won with at LSU was with recruits Saben brought in. Had the Ohio State game been played ANYWHERE but as a home game to LSU, they would have never won that game. They had better enjoy that "gift", first losing at home to Arkansas then getting to play the championship game at home, because they will not be involved in any form of championship for years.
Are you really that dumb or just an idiot?
After LSLOOSERS last two games, Les Miles can stay put and keep on losing.
I agree with Mike 110%. Les took the LSU job when his stock was the highest - at Okie State. But LSU did not realize Okie State would never go any higher with Les at the helm. (Not when competing with OU and Texas in the Big 12 South.)
Oh, he may have had a superb season - one every 10 years.
LSU is now stuck with an average coach. His success was thanks to Saban. So Lee is a freshman.....that doesn't account for LSU's pathetic performance in all the other aspects of the game.
LSU fans......hope UW can cough up enough cash to lure Miles away. Otherwise you can look forward to more spectacular games like when you played Troy.
Les is way overrated. Too bad ESPN screwed things up with the whole Michigan gig....otherwise he would have been gone last year.
absolutely! Miles sucks and not only won with sabans players but on sheer luck.
hell be gone in 1 more season.
I agree with Mike that Miles is not a very good coach, but he did win the MNC. I don't think it would of mattered had they played at Ohio St. they still would have put a beat down on the buckeyes. The only thing more overrated than Miles was Ohio St. the past couple of years.
I agree, and would add that I wouldn't walk across the street to piss on him if he was on fire after what he did to the players at Ok State..."I'm a Cowboy, and I'll be a Cowboy"...then hops on a plane headed to Baton Rouge...I'm a monster OU fan, but am glad for State that they've at least gotta coach who steps up, and stands up
Hey, I thought Myles had class, I'm a BAMA girl, living in Tigerland, and hollering Roll Tide, listening to all the LSU, Saban, psyho babble..... BUT, sound likes to me you guys have a rumor about how Myles' left Mich., or where ever that I don't know about...... To me He has class I know why Saban is hated, and don't care.....he's making the BAMA, Roll Tide Roll....
OH! MY God!, I sounded like a cajun in that last blog!... Let me say than, LOL, ROLL TIDE ROLL , RAMMER, JAMMER, YELLOW HAMMER, Given'm HELL ALABama,.................. ROLL TIDE ROLL.. BAMA Girl............................
Miles may be the luckiest SOB that ever walked a sideline - he was fortunate that he has good enough athletes (had?) to cover up his idiotic mistakes and pull them out of the messes he constantly gets them in - BUT we are beginning to see the glory daze of Miles and LSU slip away - a first class meltdown on the part of Troy saved LSU from the worst loss EVER - then they go and lose to Ole Miss - It gets even worse next year folks - In two years Leslie will be looking for a job!
After LSLOOSERS last two games, Les Miles can stay put and KEEP ON LOSING!
LSU is like Alabama or any other team that wants to win. I'd be surprised to see Les Miles last more than one more season after this one, but I doubt, even if he sees the handwriting on the wall, that he'd ever leave. He'll hang onto it like Hallman did, DiNardo, Archer and others hung onto it until the bitter end. I agree he's a mediocre coach at best but keep in mind that when Saban left for Miami, Miles was not the first nor obvious choice as his replacement. Spurrier's name came up but he had already taken the job at South Carolina. Jack del Rio of the Jacksonville Jaguars' name came up. Thank God that's all that happened. I'm not sure that del Rio would be a fair trade over Miles but the point is... LSU won't keep him much longer and you'll see that if you look at their previous coaches records there. About the best things that have (or would have ever happened) at LSU in the past 20 or so years coaching wise was: Bo Rein (who never got the chance to coach) Bill Arnsparger and Nick Saban.... and I said in the last 20 years or so. Yes I remember Charlie Mac but that was ages ago.
>>Yes I remember Charlie Mac but that was ages ago.
I might point out also that the only two reasons that Miles was hired to LSU was because no one else was interested in the job because no one wanted to try and fill Saban's shoes and because of his record against the Sooners; a feat not very easily accomplished by any other coach at Oklahoma State until Miles' tenure there.
LSU will come back next year......you just wait and see. Bad luck this year with the Perrilloux debacle. I cringe every time I hear that thing about Miles winning with Saban's recruits. Looking over the 2008 and 2009 recruiting class LSU has some "damn strong" propects.
