Obama Says He Will 'Throw His Weight Around' Concerning a College Football Playoff

Last night Barack Obama and wife Michelle sat down with Steve Kroft of "60 Minutes" to discuss all things presidential, especially the most talked about points like, you know, the economy, the war in Iraq and ... that stupid college football postseason!

Barack was asked a pretty simple question to finish up the interview: "As president of the United States, what can you do, what do you plan to do, about getting a college football playoff?"

Now, these questions are why I can never totally grasp the presidential race. Yeah, we are all interested in the serious issues that will form our country in the coming years, but I promise you that there are a few thousand die-hard college football fans that would end up voting just because Barack decided this was an important issue. (And with that said, he'd probably also lose some Big-10 and Pac-10 votes along the way.)

With his answer, Obama went with the eight-team format, which I'm a huge fan of. I think four isn't enough and six still leaves some teams on the outside looking in.

Here was Obama's best line: "I don't see any serious fan of college football who had disagreed with me on this, so I'm going to throw my weight around a little bit. I think it's the right thing to do."

Finally, someone who gets it. While you're at it, sir, can you allow beer in certain sections of college stadiums? I promise that it would make the games more fun.
