There are two games today with national sizzle. The World's Largest Cocktail Party is at 3:30. The Texas-Texas Tech game is prime time. Really, after that it is hard to find a game that will hold interest beyond a region. Those are the only two games where the two opponents are ranked in the polls.
That isn't to say there aren't a lot of big games. Conference battles galore, and plenty of potential upsets. The ACC and Big East can continue to confound as Miami-Virginia, Florida St.-Georgia Tech and Clemson-BC all have that whiff of "who the %$@* knows." WVU-UConn may show that WVU is back to being the alpha dog in the Big East or UConn, well -- who knows.
The Big Ten has battles that can shape second place and that ever important Outback Bowl bid. Minnesota has a chance to show that their great record is not entirely dependent on beating teams at .500 or worse with their game against Northwestern. Michigan State can add to the Wisconsin misery today.
I haven't even gotten to the rest of the SEC and Big 12 games. So, we will start this chat a little before noon Eastern that will go until at least 1 pm. After that we'll take a break and start another go-round at 3:30 this afternoon.
