Jacquizz Rodgers, the 5'6" freshman running back for Oregon State has proven way too fast to catch, and too small to see for the Southern Cal defense in the first half as the Beavers lead USC 21-0. At halftime, Rogers shows 113 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown. The rest of the Oregon State offense isn't too far behind him with 217 total yards of offense.
On top of the Beavers playing so far above their head, USC can't seem to get out of their own way on offense. And they aren't being helped too much by Steve Sarkisian's insistence on using gimmick plays like direct snaps to the running back on third an long situations. I've heard that Mark Sanchez guy at quarterback is kind of good. But you wouldn't know it when USC takes the ball out of his hands in passing situations.
With just 96 yards of offense in the first half, it's obvious that Southern Cal didn't come to play tonight. Oregon State has out everythinged USC to this point. Will the Trojans be able to overcome a 21 point deficit in the second half or will we see another comeback fall just short like 2006?

Seems this was bound to happen. Just when everyone was convienced that USC was the "Mother of all College Football Teams",they would find a way to prove just how flawed the idea of a Pac-10 team being #1 is. Everyone knew that the "west-10" was soft...well... anyone with a real knowledge of the college football game that is. Maybe all those bandwagon pollsters will realize that Football is more than a Flashy school with a big rep and a weak schedual. Football is and will always be an SEC game and championship to lose. Just not for now ...but for anytime in the near future. Catch up all you Big-10's,Pac-10's,who-ever 12's and any other pretenders. The SEC is by far the BEST College Division there is for football in America. Watch and learn. BTW....Good Game Oregon State.

Wow, more hubris from SEC fans. I don't think any logical person would say the SEC isn't the best conference in football. It's either hubris or SEC fans have some inferiority complex. And to say "everyone was convienced [sic]" implies that you were also convinced SEC fan. I hope you weren't; I know I wasn't. And hmmm, "how flawed the idea of a Pac-10 team being number 1 is"...not sure where the logic behind that is. They've done plenty well out of conference the past decade (USC that is). USC didn't care too much for an Arkansas team that did rather well in the SEC in '06. Aren't they like 4-0 against the SEC since 2000? Not quite sure, I hate USC. But really, if you aren't going to have a point with foundations to make, then you are just using up the internets, and there is only so much internets to go around (I hear they have a lot out in the "west-10").

Didn't Penn State completly desrtoy Oregon State in week two? If the Nittany Lions continue to route teams as they start Big Ten play look for Joepa's sqaud to leapfrog SEC teams to the top of the rankings.

I'm sorry, but I find the ACC to be the hardest division. Sure they are having a terrible year, but look at the teams they have in ONE conference, Clemson, Wake Forest, Georgia
tech, Miami, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Boston College, North Carolina, they are all players. All these teams in the SEC may have a pretty tough schedule, but when you have to play ALL the teams, I'd be pretty scared.
