I've got a very special College Football Songbook for you this week. I went out to the West Virginia vs. Colorado game last Thursday and joined up with some friends I met through Songpull.com to do some songs about the game. Songpull is a grassroots organization designed to showcase songwriters and develop songwriting communities. Special thanks to them for helping to make this happen, and to Jiffer Harriman for organizing everything at the tailgate.
It's painful that none of my predictions in the song came true, and that water made it hard to remember the words. But here's Rocky Mountain Low.
More videos after the jump.
Here's our host and songpull director, Jiffer Harriman with They Call Themselves Mountaineers. Once again, big thank you to Jiffer for all he did to organize this!
Brian McGuirk wasn't really sure about the difference between West Virginia and Virginia Tech. But I showed him that West Virginia is in fact a state and gave him a bit of advice that FanHouse's Charles Rich will probably get a kick out of. Here's Folsom Stomp.
Chris Webb's song isn't exactly about football, but we won't hold that against him. Because we would all like to imagine we met our special lady friend at a college football game, right? Here's Take You Dancing.
As I mentioned above, I gave Brian a little help with the difference between a Hokie and a Hoopie. Unfortunately, he had a good chance to use that advice at the end of the game.
The only way I could have had a better time at the game would have been if the Mountaineers would have won. But it was still fun to get out to Colorado and try something new with the College Football Songbook. Thanks again to the guys from Boulder for being great hosts and making this happen! sweet!!!! Love the video man! Looks like a tough season for the Eers, but I have a feeling a certain songwriter is going to help us get through it. Thanks John
