The situation: Georgia Tech is down 20-17 against Virginia Tech with 2:24 left. GT has two timeouts. It's fourth and seven. Paul Johnson goes for it, Josh Nesbitt is sacked, and the announcers question his decision. Johnson's response to that:
Survey says... correct! Best case scenario for Georgia Tech is a three-and-out sandwiched between two punts. The amount of time this would take:"I think you've got to try to win the game," he said.
"The guys who do the game, they're morons...I don't worry about what they say."
- Two punts: probably around 20 seconds.
- Three running plays: probably another 20 seconds.
- One forty second clock running, running, running: 40 seconds.
BONUS moron action: apparently there was also skepticism when Johnson went for two with nine minutes left. The score? 17-15, Virginia Tech.

Gotta love a confident guy. I don't get the drama about going for two. What good does 1 do you down 2 points?

Seems to me that if these announcers are so damned football savvy they need to step up to a division one head coaches job. It's real easy to quarterback from the press booth.
