The NCAA has gone beyond ridiculous in putting off a decision on whether Cinci QB Ben Mauk will get one more season of eligibility. Mauk filed for an appeal back in May for a 6th year due to medical issues. Somehow, the NCAA has failed to bother holding the hearing. Essentially ignoring Mauk and hoping he will just go away.Mauk is attending the Bearcat training camp, but because of his limbo status, can't actually participate.
"We need to get something done because he's put on about 15 pounds eating all the food and not working out," Kelly said after practice. "If he doesn't get this thing settled, we're going to send him over with the defensive line because he's about 230 now."Yeah, the NCAA cares about the student athlete. They won't even commit a mercy killing by saying no, which at this point probably is better than ignoring the whole thing. In other news, the NCAA did manage to meet and decided to keep beer ads and not fight college fantasy football. Good priority system.

Reminds me of the Mike Williams situation a few years back.
Carroll was spitting blood afterwards about how poorly the NCAA handled the situation, really ripped into them.

It would be nice if they would get thumb out of their......, because it's not the only case out there needing a decision.
