If you were to ask a handful moderately knowledgeable college football fans to rank the BCS conferences, most would probably place the ACC last or close to last. And they'd be right.
And Tony Barnhart has some powerful stats to support them.
- 1-9: The ACC's record in BCS Bowl games. The league has won only once on college football's biggest stage, and that came when Florida State beat Virginia Tech, which then was not a league member, in the Sugar Bowl for the 1999 national championship. The ACC has lost nine straight BCS games.- 2-17: The ACC's record against non-conference teams ranked in the top 10 the past four years.
- 9-31: The ACC's record against non-conference teams ranked in the top 25 the past four years.
- 0: The number of times the ACC has received an at-large bid to a BCS game.
Great googly moogly! That's horrendous. While much of the luster wore off with FSU and Miami's precipitous fall from grace, these numbers show that the problem is more widespread than two marquee teams. The conference as a whole has been entirely uncompetitive in recent -- and not so recent -- memory.

You obviously have a death wish for ACC football. Whats wrong? Didn't you get accepted by a ACC university? I agree the league needs addressing but you sound like a hater or someone that has been hurt by someeone in the ACC. Did your girlfriend go to an ACC school and drop you for an ACC graduate. It will be ok. Try going to Key West or San Francisco for a little love. I'm sure youu'll find what your looking for there!

Is funny that the ACC stole 3 Big East teams for football...
and ever since then...the ACC has had misery against the Big East...and against, ANYONE ranked.
The Big East has fattened it's out of conference record by pounding on the ACC and those stats up there in the article, just show me why that is.
Not ONLY that...but...that raid on the Big East has made the Big East STRONGER...and remarkably...lol...the ACC weaker.
And no end in sight to that trend.
I'm LMAO at the ACC Football programs.

I am a great fan of ACC team. They rank first in tournament for so many years. I hope they can maintain their same form in the coming season also.
