It's not how it sounds, but still -- funny. Senior-to-be Ohio State linebacker Marcus Freeman recounts the moment a bunch of men made a very important decision to stay together, while in the shower.
ESPN: I hate to make you describe a shower scene, but take me back to after the LSU loss when you and the other juniors talked about coming back for this season.
MF: Just a lot of emotion. Sitting on that bench and thinking, 'Hey, I don't think I'm going to come back and have this feeling again.' But we got in the shower, everybody's disappointed. I forget who was the first person to say something, but it was weird that all of us that had major decisions about coming back were all in the shower at the same time. (Alex) Boone or Malcolm Jenkins or someone said, 'Hey, I'm coming back. I'm not leaving college football like this.' And then James Laurinaitis said, 'I'm coming back, too,' and I said, 'I'm coming back, too.' We all knew we really had to go home and think about it, but that was the first feeling of, 'Hey, let's come back and do it one more time. Let's go out with a bang our senior year.'
We tease, but the shower is high on the list of unusual places to collectively arrive at such an important decision.

Better learn how to defense the spread offense before making any other rash decisions. Wonder how much a put-down by NFL scouts influenced their "decisions".

Crabs1771, /high fives all around? You're obviously the guy in the room laghing at his own jokes when noboy else is laughing... A lot of other teams had a chance at the game & choked in the last two weeks & you can't pin that on OSU. They were all ready & happy to be going to The Rose Bowl. Additionally, your assesment of this year shows you truly know nothing about football. Maybe you & ben bona should hang out together!

Sounds like some Ohio St. fans are a little sensitive. Two national title drubbings are likely to have that effect I guess. Have fun in Div I-AA's second best conference. Rest easy buckeyes, with minimal talent you can make it back to the slaugherhouse, ahem, BCS Championship year after year! To the showers!

Well Sherlock, when everyone wants to dog the same team year after year, fans of that team are going to get pissed about it. Like Woody said, we would have been happy to play in the Rose Bowl last year. Instead, teams who should have won lost, and OSU kept moving up in the rankings.
As for you, crabs, get a life. If making insinuations of homosexuality is the most you can bring to the table, stick to posting on MySpace.
And Ben, last time I checked any number of offensive and defensive players on OSU could have gone first round last year in the NFL Draft, so if I were you, I would at least put some thought into what I was posting.

There's always people out there that like to dog Ohio State...but those people never say which team they root for. Most of the time it's some leach mooching off the success of the entire SEC as a collaborative effort. The SEC is a conference people.
As for OSU going to 2 national championships in a row and losing. Why would any rational person see that as worse than not even making a BCS bowl which I'm sure many of the fans dogging Ohio State didn't even make.
I know it's hurtful for a lot of you to see the Buckeyes as a returning powerhouse year after year after year but let the record show:
The BCS system has been in place for 10 years, OSU has made it 6 of those 10, the most of any team, 3 of which OSU has gone to the National Championship again most of any team, with 2 of those being their only BCS losses.
Last but not least, OSU can proudly say their players have greater values and spirit for coming together as a team to stay their senior year and finish school. When has this become a laughing matter?

The Buckeyes bring a lot of talent back. Yes, they probably will be in the championship game again, but this year will be much different. They weren't even suppose to make it close last year. Tressel will bring his 2cnd championship back to Columbus, with the pac 10 and SEC saying how week they are. Get ready for some a$$ kicking by the buckeyes this year!

ben bona, crabs and sherlock, Just where was your college team playing at last year? Just what I thought not for a National Championship. Bash the buckeyes all you want. because year in and year out they are going to be near the top and don't be surprised to see the Buckeyes win a couple of National Titles in the next couple years. I think we have a guy named Terrell Pryor and top recruits are knocking down the door to play on the Buckeye Football Team with him. Nothing but good things ahead for the BUCKEYES !!!!!!!

The buckeyes have alot of goals. Im very doubtful they will get past USC in their back yard. I noticed Tressel once again has cupcakes(Ohio/Troy) on his schedule. They will probably go 12-1 considering a rebuilding big10. Unless they beat the trojans badly in southern Cal I still dont see them as worthy of being national champions. and the QB STILL isnt anywhere close to being heisman potential. Cmon Trojans put these buckeyes and their awfully "sly" coach out of the national championship picture early. You would be doing them a favor making them avoid another smackdown in the national championship.

When Will OSU Actually play a national championship worthy schedule? 3 of the 4 teams in the out of conference schedule is against "Creampuffs". The Lil 10 is theirs to lose. Illinois lost their best players, Michigan is rebuilding. What does Jim " No Guts, No Nuts Tressell do? He goes out And puts Youngstown State, Ohio And Troy On his schedule. Those are as close to Gimme Games as you can get. How About playing some worthy opponents for a change. Players might actually improve against real competition. USC is the best team they will play this year Easily... He would probably play high school teams if the rules allowed it. Pride comes from playing worthy opponents. USC will show the Buckeyes arent worthy of any.

mr. milk , lighten up big guy , did your team go 4 - 7 last year or something . we may have lost the title again , but unlike lsu , we didn't get 2 thugs , i mean players, kicked off our team . and unlike georgia , we haven't had 7 players arrested , or haven't had 7 arrested like florida has over the last two years . ohio state does try to do more than just put thugs on the field to win football games . in college , there really is more than just winning.

I love it when the likes of MrMilk l talk about the cupcakes that the Buckeyes play in non-conference. Considering the typical SEC non-conference schedule, the Buckeyes are playing a tough schedule. Maybe we should schedule some of those powerhouses like Louisiana Monroe Lafayette, or maybe Troy. - Hey Wait !! They did schedule Troy. I guess they are only cupcakes when someone other than the SEC plays them. When was the last time an SEC team scheduled Texas or USC as a early season game. Answer: Arkansas - who got crushed. The SEC plays the biggest bunch of non conference cupcakes on the Planet. It isn't until 2019 that one of them actually has the guts to start a home and home with the Buckeyes - That would be Tennessee. Is the SEC a great conference - Yes. But this arrogance gets really old.

Point well taken Rick, Its true they dont have as many issues dealing with their athletes. But lets not forget Clarett or the player who got in trouble for the prostitution scandal last yr. Its true I picked LSU from the beginning. but Im not a true SEC fan, Im an ACC fan living in Ohio. The SEC is still the toughest conference in college football. I have to give props where they are due. But you arent telling me that OSU isnt the undisputed front runner to win the big 10. A win over USC would go along way in my book but I dont see it happening. LSU wasnt overwhelmingly more talented than the Buckeyes they simply played stronger opponents, learned more about their team's strengths and weakenesses. If any confererence should schedule cupcakes it should be the SEC because of all the talented teams they have. OSU doesnt play 1 cupcake, they play 3 (Ytown St., Ohio, And Troy). Look at USC's out of conference schedule in comparison. Virgina(They Went To A bowl game, and are no doubt picked to do well in the ACC) and OSU. Im not a big USC fan(Although I do think alot about the team Pete Carroll built led by Matt And Reggie, they were exciting) but I also admire Pete Carroll's Fearlessness to play any team anywhere at anytime. Tressell isnt in danger of losing his job, he could have played BYU or a host of other teams and still won. The buckeyes will be good, no doubt but why such subpar competition? Do you honestly believe any of the three has much more of anything but a prayer of beating OSU. What will OSU gain by playing these teams? Hell, playing Cincy would have been better than any of the three. I see shortcuts with the Buckeyes when they arent really necessary. Its as simple as that. Im not always right but I do fairly good job of judging teams. A good team playing better teams will improve and great teams playing subpar talent will not. Adversity tends to bring out more in a team. But lets wait til USC And OSU square off. If its not just about winning, why are the buckeyes playing these cupcakes? Answer me that...

As for my teams I'm patiently waiting to see a resurgence in my Tarheels and Florida St., not a big Tebow fan but I gotta give him props as well. He is one hell of a player but I know he went home sore after that Michigan loss. Im also a fan of the Longhorns and Sooners. This might be OU's year, keep a close eye on the Sooners, they got playmakers...

OU has also been to 6 BCS bowls in that same span as Ohio State, and 3 national title games. But I think USC has gone to at least 6 BCS bowls, I could be wrong. Ohio State isn't the only one. I also think that they are in the 5th best major conference and that they have an easier road to title games just because they don't have to play in a conference championship game. Samesies for USC, but USC does regularly take on just about all comers in their non-conference schedule, which is applaudable. I don't think it'll be much of a game between the two at USC, but it will probably be the other way around at Columbus. Who knows?

Made BCS bowls... Tosu didn't deserve invite either year as evidenced by the resulted WOMPINGS!!
I know it's hurtful for a lot of you to see the Buckeyes as a returning powerhouse year after year after year (in a creampuff conference) but let the record show:
The BCS system has been in place for 10 years, OSU has made it 6 of those 10, the most of any team, ('02 to '07...USC 5&1 w/ 2 championships and 19 seconds away from 3rd... with 4 of those wins againt the little 10) 3 of which OSU has gone to the National Championship again (creamed in last two which they obviously didn't deserve to be in) most of any team, with 2 of those being their only BCS losses...
Who did they play in the other BCS non-title wins? Traditional Conference champs??? NOPE - the Little 10 and Pac 10 champs square up if not in title game... that would have been USC for the last 6 years. Great thing is that the flower power children will finally be put in their place when the Buckees visit 'SC in Sept... and then we can finally ignore them as they rightfully derserve.

mr. milk , okay lets look at Lsu . this year they play app. state , troy , north texas and Tulane ! the sec always gets a pass on the ooc sched . lol . they have 8 home games , and have played for all 3 of their nat. titles in louisiana ! gimme a break . florida plays 9 games in florida ! wow . all con. games are tough because of tradition , and just remember , michigan is 6-2 vs sec in last 8 games , so please don't say ohio state doesn't have it rough playing them every year , because obviously the sec can't handle them ! finally there is no pre-season , so EVERYONE schedules some cupcakes to tune up .
