Carson Palmer is a man of few words. Wait, did we say "few"? We mean "ill-chosen and recklessly incendiary." When on a Los Angeles-area radio show this past Thursday, the USC alum had this to say about Ohio State fans:I cannot stand the Buckeyes.Well, that's not a very nice thing to
It's amazing to hear what those guys think about that university and what they think about that football program and Tressel and all the crap I gotta put up with being back there.Okay, you've made your point, Carso
I just can't wait for two years from now when SC comes to the 'Shoe and hopefully we'll have a home game that weekend and I can go up there and watch us pound on them in their own turfCarson.
I'm really getting sick of it and I just can't wait for this game to get here so they can come out to the Coliseum and experience LA and get an old-fashioned Pac-10 butt-whoopin' and go back to the Big Ten.Okay. Let's get you home.
Granted, the vitriol is probably comically overstated, as he was talking to sports radio jockeys in USC's backyard. Also, unlike some people, he didn't bring up genocide. Still, this being the age of the Internet, we're more than happy to share woofing like that when Carson Palmer's name is attached to it. We're not trying to discourage it, of course; this is ten thousand times better than the boilerplate "looking to go out there and compete" phrases that typically come out of athletes' mouths.
Palmer may, however, want to avoid taking shots at a team that's a heck of a lot more popular--and successful--than his Bengals.

Palmer has one winning season as an NFL QB. Steelers fans feel the same way about him that he does about OSU. ;)

Hey, OSU has passionate fans, USC does too...but for a Cincinnati QB to say how much he hates OSU fans is just stupid, that's half of his fanbase.
We'll just have to beat USC as if we were Stanford...

I love it. Buckeye fans are the most pompous SOB sports fans you've ever met. Just recently, one of them sent a letter to the Columbus Dispatch complaining that there was "too much coverage of the Blue Jackets." Sorry, they should have known that the 5-page expose on an incoming freshman should take precedent over free-agency.

Buckeye fans the most pompous??? You obviously have never met a USC fan. The biggest difference between the Buckeye and Trojan fans?? Check the USC attendance during the bad years prior to Carroll getting there....lots of empty seats. That would never happen at OSU. Even if he thinks this way, it's just STUPID to say. Alot of Bengals fans are bigger OSU fans and they will let him know it.

Pompous? After Carson's comments, you call us Pompous? You my friend, have so much to learn about Buckeye Fans and the team itself, as does your pitiful LOSER - Palmer. SC is supposed to be a dynasty right? Then is it not true that Dynasties are supposed to win more than just one Championship in a row? The Buckeyes, in spite of the win loss ratio and the well known reasons for the losses in bowl games, we have been to the BIG GAME, three out of the past six years.
How about your Trojans?
Carson will have another sorry season at Cincinnati and it will suit him to a tee since he would be nothing without the compliments at wide receiver that he has right now. USC will receive the most humiliating loss at their home this year, and at the hands of our Beloved Buckeyes.
Have you even seen your roster this year, bigmouth? It sucks for you and your condoms, I mean Trojans.
The point here, just like we tell Michigan fans that for some odd reason still reside in Ohio, IF YOU DO NOT LIKE IT HERE - TAKE YOUR ASS BACK TO YOUR MEXICAN INFESTED, HOMOSEXUALIZED INSTITUTION - BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.
I would pay you and Carson Homo Palmer, to come to our campus in the heart of Buckeye Nation, announcing your arrival of course, and say any of the crap you no neck bastards are saying to the keyboards and press.
Carson sucks, you suck, and USC WILL be pounded on their own turf this year - courtesy of THE Ohio State Buckeyes!
Carson Sucks - GO BUCKEYES!

As a huge USC fan and native Southern Californian who HAS to live in Ohio (not because I want to!): You go Carson Palmer! Carson is stating exactly how I feel. OSU fans go on about their Buckeyes, yet they get spanked two years in a row in the big game. You guys are the Buffalo Bills of College Football. I smell a route brewing in LA -- of course, for Ol' SC!!!
Fight On! G-O-O-O-O Trojans!!!
Predicted Score:
USC 38
OSU 17
Sour Grapes ??!! You'ns don't know what you're talking about, boy!

MisterC...football is America's game, not hockey. And Buckeye football in Columbus will always be more news worthy than hockey. And Carson Palmer, well...there's just to much there to ridicule him about.

ohio state has set recurds on how many players they have drafted in the n.f.l. . carson better watch hes mouth or one of them former buckeyes will have him on his back ,spitting his teeth out like like chicklets.there are always teams and players we dont like. like ohio state and michigan, but ohio state has enough class not to publicly run down someone. so carson get some class. if it wasnt for t.j and chad you would be nothing dude.

I see all of these people blowing the horn for the Ohio State Walking Blackeyed Peas and it makes me sick. They play in that over rated Big Ten conference where all you have to do is beat two other grossly over rated teams and they cruise all the way to a BCS bowl game. It's bad enough that they ended up in the National Championship game the last two years but that crappy conference gets an automatic place in a BCS Bowl game. They don't even play everyone in the conference and they wouldn't dare have a conference championship game because it would be an unwelcomed obstacle that they are afraid to face.

chuck, you dont even mention your team, so we have a chace to hack at your team. well i guess all the players ohio state sends to the pros has tdo with there weak confrance too.,and guess what ohio state got a hell of a team this year to.so we will probley be in the championship game again . boy i never get tired of hearing that. deal with it!

Dan, it was certainly not my intent to dodge anyone hacking on my team. If it makes you feel any better I happen to be a die hard fan of the University of Texas Longhorns. My gosh is that all you can hang your hat on is the number of players drafted in the NFL? Let's see, Troy Smith (over rated QB) was drafted as a third stringer for the always quarterback weak Ravens? Then there was Ted Ginn drafted as a kick returner? My point is that number of players drafted does not necessarily reduce the fact that the Big Ten conference is grossly over rated year in and year out. Go back and check the final top 25 standings in the history of the BCS and you should notice that there are Big 12 teams littered all over and especially in the top ten.

...says the person who didn't capitalize anything he wrote. But hey, it's cool. Those OSU degrees only take you so far. So set ya' stones down, son.
Here's the thing: I do not have a problem with Ohio State. Hell, they'll more than likely win the Big 11 Title again this year, and more power to them. Jim Tressel is a good cat, and he's got a great group of kids behind him. I just have a problem with Buckeye fans who are certain that their excrement has no stench.
As to Gregg... I completely understand that Football > Hockey. I rank them that way myself. I also completely understand that there is absolutely NOTHING going on in College Football at this point in time, while the Blue Jackets were one of the more interesting stories this offseason, what with half of the roster out of Nationwide. It's completely reasonable for the city's newspaper to focus on the MAJOR LEAGUE franchise in town when The Big Show is on hiatus.
Man, I didn't want to argue, but I guess I brought it on myself.
