Both the Golden Nugget Casino and the Las Vegas Sports Of interest, at the Golden Nugget the much-anticipated USC/Ohio State game opened with the Trojans a 3.5 point favorite. That quickly moved to 4.5 and could grow.
"That's the biggest game everyone is looking at, and that (line) might go up," said [Golden Nugget Sports Book Director Tony] Miller, speculating that USC could close as a favorite of 7 points or more.Other games taking noticeable action include Georgia's trip to Arizona State, Michigan's trip to Notre Dame and rivalry games like USC/Notre Dame, Georgia/Florida, Florida/Florida State and Oklahoma/Texas.

Something to keep in mind though is the proximity of Vegas to LA. Very frequently LA action moves lines in an almost unnecessary way. This happens for most Laker games for example. With this in mind, LVSC and Vegas books sometimes create a spread knowing the public will usually go one way with it, so they will artificially set the line in that direction from the beginning.
In other words if it wasn't Las Vegas maybe that USC -3.5 line may have opened at USC -2 or -1.5 instead.

I wouldn't take any less than 10.5 points to make a play on Ohio State in that USC game. I imagine it'll only make it to 7 by kickoff, but that'll be a gift. That isn't proximity to Vegas skewing the line, it's tOSU showing they can't compete with the speed of the SEC or NFL-lite USC in big games over the past 5 years. I'm gonna need an American brewed beverage just to get over my excitement at the prospect.

First of all OSU turns out just as many NFL quality players as USC or any SEC school. I'm not garunteeing a Buckeye win cuz everybody knows SC is one of the toughest places to play, but it will be a hell of a game and don't sleep on the Bucks!

Dude, Ohio State lost only two starters from the team that played in the NC game last year. USC is starting a new QB. Ohio State? Not.
OSU is a very veteran team. I'd rather USC be the favorites.

Way to show off the Ohio education with that butchering of guarantee. It is obvious to anyone who watches college football for the enjoyment, without conference bias, that OSU and the rest of the Big 10 are clawing for respectability. If you continue to whine about loudly, VERY LOUDLY, you will probably get as much pub as the SEC does. Stop whining, stay with the times, build a team and compete. This is what is required to be a winner in college football. Nobody gives a crap about what you might have done in the past. It is all about now.

I can sense your despair. Having just complained about the the Big Ten and the SEC, I guess your team hasn't been good enough to go to the Big Dance for a while.
