I lost my contact... not that it matters since I'm Duke's quarterback.
The Wizard of Odds brings us this entertaining story about Duke football, justice, and the American way: Duke backs out of a scheduled four-game series with Louisville after the first game, causing the Cardinals to sue for the buyout money.
The buyout stipulated that Duke had to pay $150k for each voided game if a "team of similar stature" could not be lined up as a replacement, and here comes the catch for Louisville. Duke's lawyers argued the 6-45 Blue Devils sucked so badly that virtually any football team would be of "similar stature" and the buyout was unenforceable.
The judge agreed:
"At oral argument, Duke (with a candor perhaps more attributable to good legal strategy than to institutional modesty) persuasively asserted that this is a threshold that could not be any lower. Duke's argument on this point cannot be reasonably disputed by Louisville."Duke sucks: now a valid legal precedent. What a country!

It's a school for little rich boys and girls. It's the Ivy League of the ACC. And yes, DUKE does suck. That's why so many of their so-called great basketballers go to the NBA and fail. And those whiny Duke fans at those basketball games with all those stupid chants....yes, Duke does SUCK. Little known fact: Duke leads the ACC in gay athletes. Look it up.

Yes, a top 10 academic school (was at one point #4 tied w/ Stanford and MIT)), with the arguably the best college basketball program in the last 25 years and one of the most successful overall sports programs period really sucks.
Oh, Duke also boasts the United States National Basketball Team head coach... quite an honor.
The Duke Football team is the worst football team on the planet... everything else is pretty good.
Duke also has one of the strongest financial aid programs in the United States other than Harvard and it boasts an incredibly large amount of diversity. Don't believe the jealous haters... Duke is a gem of a school, none like it in the world. Why do you think Ted Kennedy came to Duke for brain surgery?

When four of the so called "Top" basketball recruits end up at Duke, I really would like to know why they think this coach "K" is so good. With those type players, I can't understand why they don't end up, at the very least, playing in the championship game every year??? Coach might not be half as good as they claim?? The kids playing there never seem to leave early, we all know they are not really that good and can't make it with the NBA players,,,,ever really. So, if they are staying thru there senior years, why don't they win it all,,,,,even half the time?? And, as far as a football team, well, I refuse to even talk of that mess for being a so called big school program,,,what a joke they are.
