Why not?
Nothing too spectacular here, but that's just how Georgia likes it on offense. Toss left, toss right, bounce it outside and easy does it for Georgia's new offensive star. As a redshirt freshman (why in the world did they redshirt him!) Moreno rushed for 1334 yards (5.4 average) and 14 touchdowns.
If past is precedent, the sampling below hints at the encore.

Even though I'm in Atlanta, I have very little feelings towards UGA, but Moreno is sick. I've seen him play, and I'm not sure about his speed, but I am very very impressed with how he just breaks tackles. He is no doubt a top 3 RB in college FB next year, I hope he comes out and comes to the Falcons. Either way, I love watching this kid run, he is a top pick no question.

Seeing this kid play reminds me of why I love college football. His passion for the game is evident every time he steps on the field. He runs all-out, and I love how after he gets tackled he bounces up and runs back to the huddle. You don't see that in College Football anymore. He has sparked the whole Georgia team and I look forward to big things in the future for this kid and the whole UGA football program.

He was redshirted for three reasons:
Thomas Brown
Kregg Lumpkin
Danny Ware
All three of those guys could have started in a lot of places. No need to have a fourth back.
Let's hope folks have the same complaint about Caleb King next year.
It's Georgia. Things have changed a little. We don't rebuild, we re-load.

Eh, I think all three of them are just guys. Moreno is an above-average back.
All three of them could PLAY anywhere, but it's doubtful they could start almost anywhere.
Moreno would be a starting candidate at most schools.

Brian,
I've been to 20 games in the last two years and have seen every play in the last several years either in person or on TV. Thomas Brown, Lumpkin, and Ware are NOT just guys. Any one of those three could have emerged as the dominant back in the program. Check the stats. Lumpkin rushed for 798 yards in 06 (the year KM was redshirted) and averaged over five yards a carry.
I know you're not suggesting that Thomas Brown wasn't good enought to start most places. Ware got lost in the shuffle and suffered with injuries.
Hindsight is 20/20, but I'm pretty happy that KM has three more years of eligibility. He may only use one or two, but if this had been his second season, we'd have no backs with experience behind him. I think Mark Richt knows a little more about how to manage his roster than you.

You can be a 1,000 yard back and still be just a guy. Emmanuel Moody at USC (and now at Florida) was just a guy, even though if healthy he could have posted 1,000 yards.
But he can't hold a candle to guys like Stafon Johnson or Joe McKnight. Same relationship to Ware, Lumpkin etc. and Mr. Moreno.
You can be a good player, a heavy contributor, and still be just a guy. None of those backs was able to have the kind of performance as Moreno in all their collective years and player with similar surrounding talent and coaching that Moreno did in his one year so far.
He's a different - and superior - back to those guys. That is what I am saying. If they had his ability at some point one of them would have started to impact the offense like he has.
They're good standby players, it never hurts to have any of several guys who can play and contribute and put together a fairly consistent run game. But there is a difference between guys like them and someone like Moreno.

Knowshon Moreno will be a serious contender for the Heisman Trophy, if he stays healthy. The guy is a gamebreaker! Go Dawgs!
