A successful year? It's looking that way; LSU has leapfrogged Georgia, as many expected, back into their familiar stomping grounds in the Top 2. Georgia, meanwhile, will likely be Sugar Bowl-bound should the BCS Rankings shake out the way that the AP Poll did. Most of these Southeastern Conference teams will play in January.
I'd say that's a darn good year for our lil' old southern-fried football conference.

This is a joke how does LSU jump 5 spots they lost two times just as UGA did and one time was just last week. The bottom line is LSU would lose to UGA Oklahoma or USC and dont deserve another chance they've been ranked No.1 twice and both times lost they may as well just take the championship and put it on LSU's doorstep since they want to give it to them so bad to hell with a team that really deserves it

It has been quite obvious all season long that the BCS guys and the media were going to see LSU play a home game for the national title. The big money has its way with the polls whether it be a national election or the college football rankings. I agree with the SEC and their plus 1 idea of having a final four type show down after the bought and lobbied bowl season ends. It would allow the money hounds to still play ranking crap but it also would allow for the true number 1 to and earn it fair and square.

Tennessee gave all LSU they could handle. The LSU offense didn't score but one touchdown. I am bullish on the S E C and wish one of the teams would make it to the dance, but I also think LSU has had their chance twice and blew it.

Seriously, I agree. LSU does not belong in the game. They get so upset when someone mentions the "split" title. Well, this game is certainly not gona garner them any respect. They looked outstanding earlier this year, but we all know three plays and they'd be a 7-5 team. Well, they still won though, but they had TWO chances and blew it. UGA may be good but ehy didn't win their conference. I'm an SEC man, but I must say Oklahoma belongs in the NCG. They looked to me like a better team tan LSU and UGA. Their lose only when Sam Brafford is out and their defense is outstanding.

Give me a break. The problem isn't that LSU jumped UGA, the problem is that UGA was ranked ahead of LSU in the first place. The media has been too quick to reward UGA for a couple of nice performances against the Gators and Auburn. I'm not saying that UGA isn't a good team; they're great, and will make a title run next year. But LSU won the SEC title, beating a UT team that paddled UGA earlier this year. LSU's losses were ugly, but they came in triple OT, while UGA lost to my mediocre Gamecocks and was raped by the Vols. SEC champ goes over the 2nd team in the East, period.
And you think the media is trying to help LSU? I guess you missed the media circus surrounding Les Miles/Michigan. The media, especially ESPN, has done its best to sabotage the Tigers. Their agenda is getting the Buckeyes in the game.

ESPN has'nt sabatoged the tigers just becauseof the les miles controversey, please that was just an attention plea to keep les miles's face on tv so he could keep begging for his tigers not to fall in the ranks. It's funny to me that just about every week i have heard something about LSU whether its about him leaving for Michigan or "Please dont drop us in ranks because we had 2 OT losses we still can play i swear" doesnt matter regulation or OT they were ranked number 1 twice both times they lost to an unranked team. Les Miles has done nothing but luck up all year even yesterday they beat Tenn by a touchdown that the offense couldnt even score but i guess they're still the best team???

Everyone is complaining about being cheated but the only team I think that is getting cheated is Hawaii. They went undefeated and just because they are not a big name team they do not get recognized. If anyone should feel cheated it is those young men. They deserve the recognition and the opportunity to play in the Championship game.

Since when is going to the Sugar Bowl considered getting, "cheated,"? Hawaii is damn lucky to be going to New Orleans . . . especially after their lack luster performance against a pitiful Washington Husky team. Who was cheated? Let's start with Missouri! They beat Illinois (Rose Bowl), they beat Kansas (Orange Bowl), play in the Big 12 Championship, and their reward is the washed-up Cotton Bowl? Give me a break? Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri all played my Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder this year. The Buffs beat OU by three, KU beat us by five and Missouri killed us 55-10 . . . Ouch!

LSU is not playing the best football in the SEC right now. However, with 5 weeks off to heal and get back to 100%, they will be the best team in the country on 1/7/08.
OSU is the team that doesn't belong in the NCG. Oklahoma and LSU are the best two teams and should be playing in the Super Dome for the Championship.

Were I voting, after watching both the SEC and Big-12 title games, Oklahoma would have gotten my vote ahead of LSU. That's not to say that LSU might not be better, come January. They're a beat-up team right now. Still, I was amazed at how well the Sooners squashed the Missouri offense.
Looking ahead, I think LSU should be wary. Ohio State is STILL smarting from last year's BCS beat-down. I think the Buckeyes will play better this year.
LSU has absolutely amazing talent on offense, but every game I've watched them play, there are some ridiculous gaffes. A penalty here, a drop there, odd play-calls, fumbles, something to derail a drive or three. The Tressel defense is brutal. Giving Ohio State gifts will be a recipe for disaster. If Matt Flynn plays, I think LSU wins. If not, it could be ugly. Consider that LSU managed only one offensive TD against the porous UT defense. UT allowed 59 points to Florida, 41 to an anemic Bama offense, and 45 to Cal.
Hawaii, I think, still has to show the world they can rock with the big boys. They have a golden opportunity against Georgia. Should Ohio State and LSU stage an ugly, mistake-filled game, and the Rainbows tear Georgia up, who knows what the pollsters will do?
Last time UGA played in a BCS bowl, they overlooked West Virginia, and spotted the Mountaineers a 28-0 lead. They can't afford to do that, again!
