Tulane coach Bob Toledo is known for his offense, but the wizardry and magic is with his defense this morning. The Green Wave defense has harassed LSU quarterback Matt Flynn, shut down the Tigers' run, and recorded a safety.Maybe it's the goofy purple and white uniforms. Maybe it's the energy of the Superdome. Whatever you want to ascribe to things, Tulane barely trails against a worried LSU team at half. LSU is a 41-point favorite. 41 points!
We know how these budding fairytale games tend to go: disappointment. Well at least for a half, Tulane is embarrassing the mighty Tigers.
Not that I'm a coach, but if I'm LSU I'd you know, run the ball in the second half. And play Ryan Perilloux as Matt Flynn looks awful so far. Those tiny adjustments tend to lead to big things for heavily favored teams.

It was party time to the Tigers. Only 1 thought in mind, next week's Gator game. Les got them together at halftime. I must admit as a Tiger fan it was still great to see the Tulane defense stand up against the mighty Tiger offense. I tip my hat the all the Tulane players and their staff. Great going Green guys

#1-The only reason Tulane was able to get to Flynn is because he was still nursing a hurt ankle so they never had to worry about him scrambling. They could just pin their ears back and bring it.
#2-We all know that Les could have put Perilloux in at any time and blew the game away, but Flynn needed the game-time to prepare for next week against Florida and what better team to keep things close against than little ole nobody Tulane.
#3-I'm glad Bob Friedman and his Tulane buddies knew how to read in the sixties, and I hope they still can. I hope they got a good look at the score board then and now. It must make you feel all warm inside to pretend like you can read better than someone else just because you suck at football! HAHAHA!!
