No other way to describe what UCLA did in the second half of their game at Utah. The game was 14-6 Utah at halftime. Not great for a top-15 team, but not an insurmountable obstacle to overcome in the second half. Then UCLA went out and turned the ball over 4 times. Not to mention turning the ball over twice on downs. Utah capitalized and made what had been a tense tight first half into a rout. UCLA was shut out 30-0 in the second half to fall 44-6.
UCLA also showed a lack of discipline with numerous false start penalties. Overall, UCLA flopped in their first road game. They moved the ball, but just made key mistakes to give away opportunities. On the defensive side, they were a step slow, and quickly got gassed in the second half.
Utah appeared to regroup after a disappointing and injury-plagued start. They showed determination and fight in a big game. UCLA, by contrast, rolled over.

UCLA is lucky that they played at home last week with PAC 10 officials, I am not one to harp on officials, being as I officiated for years my self. I was at the game at the Rose Bowl last week. Had the same crew been there doing the reviewing. UCLA would now have there second loss in as many weeks. UCLA feel the rath of the Mountain West !!! They are for real !!!!!

UCLA was at Stanford to open the season, but this was the first road game that actually mattered.

This is going to be another long season for UCLA They have a wanna be quarterback and a weak defense. Being a UCLA fan for many years I guess I should just accept this. I keep hoping to see them act like the team who was one of the ones who always was on top like when there was PAC-8 guess those days will only be memories. But who knows maybe they will find a quaterback who can throw and be a leader one day.
