Michigan Brings Joy to Big Ten Fans

Well aside from Ohio State who hates anything to do with Michigan. I find it pathetic how fans from other Big Ten schools reacted. I mean don't get me wrong, Michigan deserves the national spotlight for that loss. But Big Ten schools, just make sure you don't lose to the team that just lost to App. St. How bad would that look for you!

PSU has nothing to cheer about. 0-9 vs UM. Funny how they cheer for another team to beat a team they can't. As a Michigan fan, I am of course, shell shocked at the loss. What people fail to understand is that UM still has athletes and will still win 7-8 games at least this year. I find the piling on abhorrent. Stay classy, Happy Valley.

What can I say about my alma mater's embarrassing defeat on Saturday? Well, for one thing: If you absolutely, positively HAVE TO crap out on a game like this, make damn sure you do it your first game of the season!

Second: Kudos to Michigan Coach Lloyd Carr for modeling good sportsmanship in defeat with his post-game remarks. He didn't shirk responsibility where mistakes were made, and was quick to give appropriate recognition to App State, which simply and clearly outplayed the Wolverines. Coach Carr once again displayed grace and class, which proves his ability to continue the legacy of the late, great, and beloved Bo.

Third: To the sportscasters and pundits screaming about the unique, historical significance of this upset. The word of the day is: PERSPECTIVE. Sure, this was a huge defeat for Michigan, and a huge victory for App State. But even if this game was the biggest upset in sports history, it's still only one game! One game out of a season of 12 games. If the Wolverines are able to adjust, make lemonade from this lemon, and win the remaining 11 games of this 2007 season, this will be their best season since 1997, when they went 12-0-0 and won the National Championship. Similarly, from App State's perspective, the Mountaineers came to Ann Arbor defending back-to-back Division 1-AA champions, and have won 15 straight games - the longest streak in the nation.

Upset?? Sure - but this won't "make" App State (they "made it" long before Saturday's game) - and it certainly won't "break" the Michigan Wolverines. GO BLUE!!

What else is new. When historically you can't win, you always mock the best when they stumble. Its tough being 2nd class, but chin up, I'm sure there will be other defeats that you can take joy in. After all, even Tiger loses once in awhile.

Carr. Considering the talent he has recruited, he has a dismal record in "Big Games"
The defense under the care of that "DEFENSIVE GENIUS", Ron English, has given up over 110 points in the last 3 games-OSU,USC,and now APP. State.
It's about time the egotistical maniacs of michigan are put in their place. Why should we feel sorry for you?? You ducked Georgia, and got a $400,000.00 ass-whipping.

Michigan and Notre Dame are the 2 perennially most overrated football teams.....and the biggest whimpy whiners. Love to see them both lose.....to the real men of college football (that is, any football players other than those from Michigan and Notre Dame)

Hey OSU dummies that are cheering because Michigan lost to ASU: sober up & take a look at the "big picture". After this loss, Carr is done, and furthermore, will not be choosing his successor. Uh oh - since JT is 5-1 against Carr, why cheer an event that seals Carr's departure??? Are you that short-sighted and stupid?

Now Michigan hires an elite, top-shelf outsider as coach. Wouldn't OSU be better off if Michigan goes 11-0 and loses to OSU every year instead of Michigan losing to a AA team??? Keep cheering, dopes...

Sure, this is an upset. But, it is clearly not the biggest upset of all time. First of all, nobody was more overrated than Michigan. Secondly, if there is anybody who could play with the Div 1 A teams, it would be App State. So, why is everybody shocked ? Well, its the sensationalism of the media. Sure its a big story, but the media has made it out to be the biggest story of the 21st century. And I'm a Buckeye ! Go Bucks !

At least, the score keeper couldn't stop the clock early to give you guys an extra play to score after two horribly blown calls let you get in position to begin with. In response to Akron Johnny. Who is asking anybody to feel sorry for Michigan? But the reason why we have a "superior attitude" in your opinion is because we have more Big Ten titles than anybody else. That's a fact! 11 Nationals titles! That's a fact! More wins than anybody else! That's a fact! expectations in Ann Arbor are at the highest, but I don't know anybody who is asking anybody to feel sorry for Michigan. We played like crap, we lost, enough said! I don't know about ducking Georgia? That's new to me, but we lost to App. St., and nothing will take that away. But just make your team, whoever that is, doesn't lose to Michigan. I just found it pathetic the way some Big Ten fans reacted, it's not like they beat Michigan. Your complex about Michigan kills me!
