California transfer Nyan Boateng hadn't even left Gainesville for Berkeley before he found trouble, as the future Golden Bear wide receiver was arrested last week and "charged with burglary residence, battery and criminal mischief," according to the Contra Costa Times. The former Florida Gator--and the only one in the Cal program who can claim a National Championship--allegedly attempted to enter a former girlfriend's residence last Thursday, was refused entry then kicked the door in.
Cal Head Coach Jeff Tedford is "aware of the situation" and has suspended Boateng from all team activities while he "gathers more information." Even if he had stayed on the good side of the law, the transfer would have had to sit out the 2007 season, so the news has little impact on the program other than the schadenfreude felt by Stanford alumni.

Why did you right this absurdity? What, it’s not like you have never had a minor misunderstanding with an ex, right? In fact, is it not true that you have terrorized your wife for years in quite perpetuity? It is this FACT, which makes your actions unforgiving and hypocritical. How can you beat your wife and then come and post this? I have seen your vast and disturbing lengthy case history of domestic violence, and spousal abuse of a most grievous nature! You should be ashamed of yourself, as should AOL! You and AOL have gone out of your way to smear Cal football with both of your last posts! So, what’s the problem? Why are you going out of your way to smear the name of Cal football?!? You should be way beyond ashamed of yourself. You are the sum of all human scum! You make humanity weep in disgust and indignation! You are an abomination of man! YOU HAVE NO SOUL! May appallingly numerous ills befall you until your heart beats no longer!

Retraction and correction:
Damn! I misspelled write as right! Damn! Cut me some slack, haven’t slept in 36 hours. Sometimes words start to blur into one another, plus I am not a native speaker of English. Too much coffee in my blood also doesn’t help. I apologize for above comment also. I have since discovered that the records I received were for someone with a similar name to the blog author. The writer is not guilty of domestic violence after all. (-: Sorry. )-:

I don't think this made much news but one of the Gators from the BCS team put their ring on Ebay about 2 weeks ago. The rumored seller was Boateng. The asking price was, I believe, around $8K. Highly recruited and highly a bust.

Highly a bust? Are you insane? I have seen this kid, he is a beast! After Desean leaves for the NFL and we lose two other key receivers to graduation this kid will be #1! He is going to shine big time @ Cal! We are going to highlight his talents like an inept Florida team never could! I am so thrilled to have him on the team. I pray and believe these FALSE charges will be dropped. Like that other guy said, who hasn’t had an argument with an ex that escalated unintentionally? The poor kid made a mistake, and he is very much a part of our future. I hope this is the LAST I see of this on this blog or anywhere else in the media! GO BEARS!

Seth, did you say "inept Florida team?" The same program that just won the BCS Championship? Remember this, if Boateng was that good, Meyer would given him more leeway. Hate to say it but great talent is given a few more chances at most big programs. Meyer had to kick Florida's best defensive player off the team last year but it was after repeated violations. Boateng would be returning as our 7th or 8th best WR. So, guess what? You get a guy who couldn't play at UF and he'll start for a juggernaut like Cal. Wow, remind me to disregard any future post you may have 'cuz you obviously a Kool-Aid drinker. Inept? That was hilarious. Good luck against the Vols!
