Where does a 6'4", 265 pound bone-crushing defensive end recruit go on vacation? The only place big enough to hide him, Canada. While five-star über-recruit Ethan Johnson is unreachable while on vacation in the Great White North, sources at rivals.com and WNDU are both reporting that he has verbally committed to the Irish. After snagging Jamoris Slaughter and leaking out some gossip about his alma mater, I was already in the process of building a 90-foot statue of Corwin Brown made out of solid gold, but in light of this news, I think I'm going to have to double the size of the ungodly edifice. Here's a little bit of trivia for you readers out there. I just flipped through the player profiles on scout.com and noticed that there are ten committed recruits who held scholarship offers from both Notre Dame and Michigan. Anyone know the breakdown of who chose Notre Dame versus Michigan?
The answer? 10-0, Notre Dame. Draw your own conclusions.

Only 180 feet? Pshhh. Construction has already begun on a monument that will dwarf Mt. Rushmore, the Washington Monument, and the city of Dubai put together!
In all seriousness though, it's great to see that Corwin continues to have a huge impact on recruiting. These are exactly the kind of guys we need to bring ND back to true prominence. I trust Charlie to reel in the offensive talent; with Corwin covering the other side, ND should be a force to be reckoned with for the next several years.

Man can Weis & Corwin recruit. Being anti-notre dame I have a feeling I am going to be very agarvated seeing these guys play the next couple years if they keep snagging 5 stars left and right.

Could be a bogus rumor.
The "out of contact" thing and ND's penchant for high publicity with commitments is raising some red flags with some people I know in the recruiting biz.
Particularly when people close to him were thinking a down-the-road USC commitment was in the works.

They can recruit 5-Star players all they want, but until they stop passing out those Nebraska-esque "cement cleats", they will continue to be trounced in Bowl Games where they are overmatched as a result of being overrated, and "given" the big pay-days.

His high school coach confirmed the committment. I think that a couple guys offered by ND actually did go to Michigan, but many more offered by Michigan (including Ethan and Omar Hunter) have verballed to ND.

Hmmm why are the Wolverines off to a slow start recruiting? Is everything ok in Ann Arbor?
