There's joy in University Park this evening, as Trojan fans congratulate offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin for being hired by the Oakland Raiders as their new head coach.
The Contra Costa Times is reporting that Al Davis has made Kiffin the NFL's youngest head coach after being spurned by Kiffin's co-offensive coordinator at USC, Steve Sarkisian last Friday.
Trojan fans criticized Kiffin for his playcalling which was at times both uninspired and predictable--taking an offensive system that but years ago seemed revolutionary and creative and making it look pedestrian.
There's no word as to whom will take over Kiffin's play-calling and recruiting duties for the Trojans, but chances are that Trojan head coach Pete Carroll will elevate Sarkisian to be Offensive Coordinator, which means that the former Raders' quarterback coach will be calling plays for the first time at USC.
