Thousands of fans will spill into Beard-Eaves Coliseum tonight for the nationally televised basketball game between Auburn and Alabama. Of course they won't be there for basketball. Everyone knows that round-ball is an after thought on the Plains.
The real reason fans will be there will be to celebrate the school's Iron Bowl victory over Alabama back in November. That's right. Tradition says the winning team celebrates its football victory during halftime of its home basketball game with the other school.
Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville, along with some of his players will be presented the Iron Bowl trophy by none other than the Alabama Student Government Association. It's a tradition that was started back when Alabama was still competitive in football.
Tonight, those brave students from Tuscaloosa will make their fifth consecutive visit to Auburn to present the trophy. It's always a sight to see. And even after five in a row, it still doesn't get old.
For Tigers basketball coach Jeff Lebo, it's a chance to "(see) what it's like to be at North Carolina and to play the likes of Duke or Maryland," says Birmingham News columnist Ray Melick in today's paper.
A sellout crowd is expected tonight. However, there are still plenty of good seats available for Auburn's next home game with top-ranked Florida on Saturday.

Yeah, I think UAT's SGA candidates are now required to demonstrate that they know the Auburn fight song as a prerequisite to running for office. Some bama fan will write in now and say all that's changing since Saban is at UAT. I've always heard in sports, you're only as good as your last performance. What was his record with the Dolphins again??

Bama fans. You gotta love them! No matter how much reality slaps them in the face, they insist on living in a fantasy world where UAT's football (ahem) program still matters to anybody. No matter how depressed or down we Auburn fans may get (assuming we ever have a reason to) there'll always be Bama fans to compare ourselves to.
If only we could bottle them... but then we'd have to label it HOT AIR. Truth in labeling and all that, you know.

lady tiger you know im right, yes auburn did beat us but after 8 tries they should have.they still have to come to us this year and we will see how it turns out and see if they get a ncaa bid this year.auburn needs to find to more games in football,i did hear poe dunk will play them and so will samford, auburn doesnt want a top notch team after what usc and ga. tech did.lmao
thats the reason they will never play for a nat.championship even with a 13-0 record.

Jake, we don't mind coming to you to kick your butts. We haven't lost yet on your turf, and I don't expect we will this year either. I'm sorry, but that's all I could understand.
Your spelling has improved and I am proud of you for making the effort. Now if you would capitalize the first word of a sentence, and use periods (that's a dot) at the end instead of commas, it would be easier to read.

Jake, yes we still have a game at bammer, but if yall are as slow as you were Tuesday night, I don't see a problem for us. I love that "where the hell did that train come from" look yall get when we run all over you. I hope I get to see it again soon.
It is so sweet the way you worry about Auburn all the time, but it's not really necessary. Obviously, we can take care of ourselves. It's bammer that needs your help.
By the way, your spelling has really improved and I'm proud of you for that. Keep up the good work.

Hi Guys,
I've been slumming it over on the Bama blog with Carmen and James. The Bama fans are so...ticked off over there about something. Maybe it's because whenever Auburn folks show up, the discussion rises above their heads. They have to switch from name-calling and no punctuation to struggling to link thoughts together. It's really kind of sad - but funny, too. Maybe it's funny, but in a sad way. or maybe... Nahhhh! It's just funny!

Wow. That has to be the WORST paragraph I have EVER seen. Period. The first sentence:
"lady tigger hasnt did anything"
Okay, we can argue, but seriously, I have to understand what's being said.

Jake speaks that special bammer language. You either figure it out or ignore him.

Yep, that's a real free-for-all on that bammer board. Thanks for the back up. Ole John Brown really goes into a tail spin when the gay thing comes up. He's about ready to blow. I think Auburn is winning. Bammers are sooo easy to bait.

I know, Carmen. Whoever Adam Cameron is over there, I really had to slow things down and explain to him. You'd think if he could get on the web, he could follow a simple conversation. He's probably a Valedictorian from UAT, too.

Jake, man, you gotta get out of the woods sometime. What do the women look like where you come from, talking about shaving legs and armpits like it's something you're concerned about? Oh, and it might help if you stop typing with your feet.
Nick\'10 - I don't know what else you'd expect from Jake, or Bama fans in general. I grew up a Bama fan. My senior year in high school I had to go to UAT for all-state orchestra. It was nasty, the people were unfriendly snobs, and the campus was filthy. I visited Auburn because they offered me a scholarship. It was beautiful, people were friendly, they wanted to be helpful, the music department head knew my name from my trip to UAT. As far as I'm concerned, talking with Bama fans is like traversing a cow pasture. You meet some who can grasp concepts and act sort of civilized and your feet stay clean. Then there's Jake and you know you've stepped in something.

Yall don't be too hard on Jake. He's just repeating things he's heard and read from other bammers. Jake you are hanging out with the wrong crowd and they have rubbed off on you. Try to be a nice boy.
