A report out of Texas is Oklahoma running back, Adrian Peterson is set to declare for the NFL Draft. Peterson the face of Oklahoma football has been speculated to turn pro early, since arriving 2004 on campus in Norman. But now, three years later University of Oklahoma fans can soon receive official word. The Dallas Morning News is reporting,
"Adrian Peterson will skip his final year of eligibility and enter the NFL Draft, according to two sources close to the situation. An official announcement could come as early as Thursday. "
Peterson (aka, AD - All Day) returned back in uniform at the Fiesta Bowl on New Years Day, since his collarbone injury against Iowa State on October 14. Against Boise State, Peterson rushed for 77 yards on 20 carries in the Fiesta Bowl in a 43-42 lose in OT. In Peterson's three year tenure at Oklahoma, AD has suffered ankle and collarbone injuries. Though the junior has amassed 4,045 yards and 41 TDs in 31 games played, although in a 3 game period in 2005 Peterson carried only 16 times.
Though no official announcement has been scheduled. Already Oklahoma Coach Bob Stoops is denying the report, telling The Oklahoman:
"It's all inaccurate." "It's false. People have been reporting irresponsibly without all the facts."
I don't see why Stoops would be denying the reports, unless we really got a big story in the making. I would seriously doubt, as AD can't afford another college injury. As Peterson has already dropped from a sure top 3 pick, to some may say 9th or 10th selection in 2007.

Adrian Petersons' stock will surely drop in the NFL draft. After being injured he needed a break out game against Boise St. It'll be interesting.

Are you kidding me? The guy is the most physically gifted big back to come into the League in many years.
Injury concerns are exactly that, concerns. But he's a rare legitimate game-changer whose style should mesh well with the NFL.
He's a top five guy.

I wish AD the best in any decision, I sure would like to see him stay his senior season and be the overall #1 pick in the draft. He is to talented of a player to go below anybody in the draft. He would be the Heisman winner and be holding that crystal ball if he stays. I do believe his stock got hurt for getting hurt. But in football if your not playing hurt your not playing hard enough ball.

If Peterson stays, this next year in College Football he'll blow records away, Sooners will receive a National Championship with their Jr.College QB transfer from California (remember, the last time OU had a Jr.College transfer as quarterback, OU won the National Championship in 2000)!! Peterson will hold up the Crystal Ball, and the Heisman, along with breaking Billy Simms rushing record for all-time leading rusher at OU, outstanding accomplishment, he will go as a #1 draft pick, more money for Peterson, and his family!!
