Breaking news has reports from everywhere in West Virginia that Rich Rodriguez will be staying in Morgantown to coach the Mountaineers! Even though I don't have a link to stand on, I'll go with this story. Too many sources that have been quiet all day long in anticipation of a final word are broadcasting a deal to keep the Mountaineer football coach.
The big question now is what if any repercussions will there be. I can guarantee none from me! I'll update as details come out about the nature of the events that took place today in Morgantown. WoooooooooHooooooooooo!!!

Rich Rodriguez has spurned a multi-million dollar offer from the University of Alabama and will remain the head football coach at West Virginia University. Rodriguez made the announcement during a team meeting this afternoon. Players roared in approval upon hearing the news.

Great decision. He would be coaching at Hollins College in five years if had took that position. He will be a Hall of Famer with time at WVU.
In 5 yrs., Rich would be coaching Powder Puff football at Hollins College if he had taken the coaching job at Bama.

As an alum of West Virginia, I had no doubt that Coach Rod would stay with his team and his "WV family". Coach Rodriguez is a class act and perfectly compliments his class Mountaineer football team. The loyal WV fans are all proud of you, Coach. Thank you for your loyalty.
As an alum and a huge WVU football fan I am not totally happy. Where I am glad Coach Rod is staying, I am not happy with the way he went about it. When he went on the air Friday night he should have admitted that he was listening to Alabama. This whole thing came down to character for me. I will always have a question in the back of my mind when a job opens if he is going to jump ship.
