BCS prognosticator guy Richard Tellshow anticipated this possibility and posted about it a few days ago: Does UF have a shot if USC loses? Below is how I see the computers if USC loses - a tie between UF and Mich. Therefore UF will need to pass Michigan in the human polls for a chance at the MNC. Based on the voting so far this year, I think only a blowout win in the SECCG would do the trick for UF...Maybe even that won't be enough to sway the voters. The SEC championship game was less a blowout and more a sloppily played game that Florida received at least one gift touchdown in, so it's doubtful Florida passes Michigan.Team ST RB WC KM JS PW BCS Ave
1 Ohio State 1 1 2 1 1 1 1.00
2 Michigan 3 2 3 3 2 2 2.50
3 Florida 2 3 1 2 3 3 2.50
Also, Tellshow does SOS calculations: he has Florida #2 behind USC. Michigan? #3. The legendary Florida schedule is only a tiny increment better than Michigan's, certainly not by enough to excuse Florida's highwire act as opposed to Michigan's asskicking tour. Also, there's this: if MOV was still a part of the computer polls -- thanks, media! -- Michigan would whomp Florida and we wouldn't even be having this conversation. More data = Michigan.

I would love to have a remake of 2001 :) but either if the scarlet and gray and the team up north play against each other I think the score will be 42-39
(and we'll humiliate them again OH..........IO)

Sadly, Brian -- I'm convinced the voters are going to do just that. I hope I'm just being a somewhat typical pessimistic Michigan fan, but I just have the feeling in my bones that Michigan is going to get screwed.

Michigan is a third place team by...
1. Not winning its division, the Big Ten.
2. Michigans schedule was so light except for Ohio State.
3. Michigan played over its head against Ohio State. Look at the game stats....the stats weren't as close as the score.
4. Michigans # 1 defense couldn't stop Ohio. Ohio States rookie defense outlasted the #1 string Michigan offense.
5. Michigan was susposed to be sky high after the loss of Bo. They played above their ability.
6. Florida would beat Michigan in a close game.

GO GATORS! What a terrific football game. Florida simply has more talent than any of their opponents on either side of the ball. The SEC champ against the Big Ten champ - that's what it's all about.

Go Blue.... If you look at rosters,Michigan and Ohio State are the best match up possible. They Complement each other on both sides of the ball in speed and size.Talent wise they have the best. If you are a true Florida fan, believe me you don't want Ohio state,it would be the biggest gator skinning in your life time.

That's total crap...Its obvious BIG Ten or Midwest bias making people think Michigan even had a close schedule to the Gators. They analyzed the schedules and Florida's destroyed Michigan. They did not win their conference and do not deserve to go to the championship game. Oh and Michigan has had its poorly games themselves. No one else in the BIG Ten besides Ohio St., Michigan or Wisconsin are any good. The rest of the conference is not that good.

Mich. has been idle, has NOT had the tough schedule that Florida has had... Has NOT played as many game...
Just WHO can deny that the Florida Gators deserve this shot?
Personally, I think that Next Year we will see the beginning of the TRUE "Urban Warfare" of our new Coach and HIS team coming to fruition.
I spent many years "Waiting for next year" till Spurrier came...
Now we shall return to "Next Year" with Urban and his special touch!!!
Go Gators...

Ohio State will not be able to claim to be the National Champion unless they beat the champion of another top conferance. The Pac-10 or SEC champion would give their championship legitimacy. Playing Michigan again will not provide that "indisputable evidence". A victory over the SEC Champion is required. Playing Michigan again is just a Big 10 championship game. I thought that championship had already been decided. Let the Buckeyes play the Gators. The winning team and conferance will get the national bragging rights they deserve.

Seems to me that a matchup between the champions of the two best college football conferences, the SEC and the Big Ten, would be an ideal matchup. Buckeyes vs. Gators, winner take all! Florida has already beaten LSU head to head and Ohio State has done the same to Michigan.

Michigan loses by three points to Ohio State in the horseshoe. They hand Wisconsin their only loss. They beat Notre Dame by 26 at N.D. and there is a debate on who should be number two. Get Real....

What does it prove for Michigan to play Ohio State? If Ohio State loses then we will have to deal with the question as to who really is #1. Co-National Champions. Michigan had their shot, let Florida have their shot. The only way to prevent this is to have a playoff..... Posted by Michigan fan.

Here's my take on the whole thing: So much for the B (c) S! Everyone was so high on USC. Now it's Florida. I've never been a Michigan fan, but they should not be punished for one close loss to the indisputably best team in the nation. Go blue, from a Sooner fan!
