Remember how USC lost in the Rose Bowl to Texas? Remember how that was over 10 months ago? Remember how USC couldn't convert a 4 & 1? Apparently Josh Peter over at Yahoo! Sports doesn't.Josh's latest article is titled "Rush to judgment", and deals with the blown call by the refs when Vince Young's knee hit the ground on a touchdown in the second quarter of the Rose Bowl. Josh goes into great detail about the booth refs not having the right angle, not having enough time, blah blah. Well I have news for you Josh, we have known about this for quite a while. Did USC's loss to Oregon St send this guy into such a tail-spin that he had to bring up ancient history that no one cares about anymore? Gimme a break. Here is an excerpt from the article:
The biggest fumble in last season's epic national championship game between Texas and Southern California didn't occur on the field. It happened in the instant replay booth.
Ten months after Texas' victory, replay officials and their supervisor still haven't formally addressed what went wrong. But this much is sure: Instant replay, instituted as a backstop to ensure proper calls were being made on the field, failed.
I have an idea. I will put a reminder on my calendar for April 1, 2007, that way I will remember to write an article about the Mavs losing to the Heat in the NBA Finals and talk about how bad the refs were. And now might be a good time to write about how the Seahawks got jobbed in the SuperBowl. Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the inspiration Josh.

There was also the interception by Drew Kelson the refs missed, where's the article on that one? What a moron.

Funny he doesn't mention the last play of the ND game last year where the ball was placed on the one-yard-line instead of the 3. Interesting that USC didn't allow instant replay (their option as the visiting team). The films clearly show the ball going out on the 3. If spotted correctly, would USC have gone for the TD or the field goal which would have tied it up (if made) and forced overtime where ND had all the momentum. Funny how this missed spot got them into the big game and for him that is OK. What a whiner!! And a dishonest one at that.

Well said SK. And don't forget about the "Bush Push" that wasn't called when they scored against ND. I think he forgot.

For some reason, based on my experience, people are biased against a lot of Texas-related things. Pickup trucks, UT, bbq, you name it.
