In a shocking surprise, Auburn remains sixth in this week's B(C)S Standings. As sure as the leaves are changing colors in the South, Auburn was jumped yet again by another team in this week's poll. The lucky winner - Texas. The Longhorns jumped from seventh to fifth after defeating Oklahoma State, 36-10.
You know, I've given up making sense of this whole thing. It's becoming apparent that Auburn is headed for an 11-1 season and no shot at the SEC or national championship. I really can't figure out why a team jumps from one week to the next. Luckily, I've got good company - everyone else.
I really don't have a problem with Texas jumping the Tigers. They are rated higher in the human polls. That, I can understand. As for how Florida remains ranked higher than Auburn, I haven't a clue. The more I watch Arkansas, the more I'm beginning to think they may be better than both (we know they are 17 points better than Auburn).
Auburn moved up one spot in the AP, Coaches and Harris Poll, going from sixth to fifth. Of course, the only poll that counts is this crap we're dealing with now. Up until last night I really thought that if Auburn won out things would take care of themselves. Now I'm not so sure.

The same thing happened to Texas last week. Texas won their game against Texas Tech. Alebeit in close and come back fashion. However, UL didnt even play and they leapfroged Texas.
I do agree with you, that if any team deserves to jump over Auburn, it should be Texas.

We took a hit this week in SoS. Washington State was #25 then got beat by AZ. That cost us some points for schedule.

I'm so sick of hearing people complain about our fate in the polls (Coach T included). Maybe one of these days our AD will realize that we need to schedule some actual teams for our non-conference games. 3 absolute cream-puff teams is rediculous. If we want to be big-time, we should schedule at least 2 decent teams for non-conf. War Damn Eagle!

You want an answer? It's called Arkansas State. Blame it on your AD, coach, etc., not on the pollsters or computers, who are rightly disgusted that you beat Arkanasa state at home by only 28.
You guys complain about Louisville's schedule, but the objective computers know better--they rate UL's schedule above yours.

It's all about the schedule. UF played a very tough schedule. If AU played UT, BAMA, and LSU... and a team.. let's just say UF. If they played them all pretty much back to back, then I could see where an AU fan would be upset about being jumped in the polls. AU did not play that schedule, but UF did. That's why UF is ranked higer. AU was very fortunate to get the win against UF. If the Leak "fumble" call would have been called correctly.. I am pretty sure UF gets points down there and most likely win the game.

Wait just one second. Have you ever tried booking teams when you have locked games that you HAVE to play? We HAVE to play Miss St. who has traditionally been a weak team. That doesn't help us any. Try booking Ohio State in between our Ole Miss and Georgia game. YOU CANT!!! You can't find a team that will spend the money to come to Auburn to play so we have to pay teams to come play us! Until you judge our AD scheduling games, you try booking the schedule for next year. It's IMPOSSIBLE to get a schedule that will rock the polls.
