ESPN announcer Brian Kinchen realized immediately that his description of how to catch a football was "kinda gay," and after letting those words slip from his mouth on a national telecast, he realized the move was "kinda stupid." And now, he's "kinda fired."The worldwide leader in sports, a subsidiary of the very-gay Disney corporation, has suspended Kinchen for this weekend's games, according to Josh Krulewitz, ESPN's vice-president of public relations.
So yeah, he's not exactly fired, but definitely on notice for his comments...and were ESPN owned by General Electric, they'd have the Donald cued up.

I think the fact that people are so PC is ridiculous. You can't say anything anymore without offending someone. The comment was not offensive or directed toward anyone in particular. The ONLY thing that should have been said is maybe pull Kinchen aside and tell him to maybe not use that term again. AND STOP OVERREACTING!

If Brian Kinchen were gay or a female commentator and had said that, nothing would have been made of it. Reverse discrimination rears it's ugly and ridiculous head once again!

He didn't even specify a negetive connotation to the comment. He doesn't seem like the best boradcaster around, but c'mon, this is cable TV!

Can you really make that kind of judgment from such a short clip? Let's not indict people with such haste, after all this is a sports blog, not a political one.
BTW this has been taken off of You Tube.

Good Grief. What is wrong with people? This is so ridiculous to fire a guy for such an innocent remark. What is wrong with ESPN? I think they are acting kinda gay.

Taking away a man's livlihood for a "kindagay" comment? What if he would have said "he caught that one like a fag" would they have shot him on the spot? Lighten up sexuality is a funny thing especially the "kindagay" thing

Whatever happened to freedom of speech. So tired of people overreacting to such petty stuff. If anyone was offended by that, they have a problem. I agree, pull him aside, tell him hey......lets not use that word again, and thats that. When your job is to talk constantly, you are more apt than others to say something that might offend someone else......golly gee whiz. Get over it, move on!

Why the fuss, this is not about politicians getting votes, it's about sports. You have more normal people watching and buying tickets than Gays. So what are you afraid of? If it offends gays so what, run a survey on how many gays watch football and if you get one I will be surprised.

Free speech no more! I never thought I'd see the day when you can no longer speak out against something as immoral as a homosexual, we are being forced to accept their life style, this is unnatrual attraction all over the world. SODDAM AND AMERICA!! You'd think GOD did not know what he was doing when he put man and "WO"man together. Where the hell are we headed in this country? Do you actually think in the eyes of God we will actuall survive this onslaught of immorality, please. But you just keep on living our day is coming!!

I am gay. I love football. However, I don't find the comment offensive. Maybe I grew up around to many breeders. I have come to understand their ignorance of the fact that something’s they have to say are painful. So, I have shifted to base my understanding of their comments on my opinion of their intentions. Since I am fairly generous on those grounds it has led to a lot less pain/anger for me. I don't think he meant to be hurtful, so I think ESPN should just have told him to be more careful and left it at that.

So it doesn't seem offensive to say that if a player throws like a homosexual, he's not throwing as good as a straight player? That being gay (or throwing gay) is a bad thing? How is that *not* offensive?
I mean, have you ever heard someone refer to a *good* throw as gay?
That said, firing him would be over-kill in my book, too...
