Folks, it's time to start considering Colt McCoy a Heisman candidate, and frankly I am a bit surprised that he is not garnering more attention. We all know that Troy Smith has the Heisman race locked up, but for ESPN to not even include Colt in their Top 15 is ridiculous. His numbers are on par with Troy Smith and Brady Quinn, and he has led the Longhorns to 4 straight comeback victories. What more could you ask for? Let's take a look at the numbers:Pass Yards
- Brady Quinn - 2233 yds
- Troy Smith - 1898 yds
- Colt McCoy - 1705 yds
- Colt McCoy - 24
- Troy Smith - 22
- Brady Quinn - 21
- Troy Smith - 8.87 YPA
- Colt McCoy - 7.86 YPA
- Brady Quinn - 7.37 YPA

Freshmen don't win the Heisman trophy. I even believe it's one of HP's Heismandates, so you know it's dogma. That being said, he has a great case building for next year.

Yeah, he is definitely maturing well and setting himself up for a great season next year. But didn't Adrian Peterson get some Heisman talk as a freshman two years ago? All I am saying is that ESPN should at least acknowledge his Heisman presence.

Dennis Dodd is no genius, but he thinks McCoy is a serious contender: http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/9763796

see ( Colt Brennan's stats). He's passing against defenses who are all playing pass. Usually with 6 db's.
