Proving that no cultural phenomenon is too overdone for the University of Southern California's Trojan Marching Band to exploit, this year's pop-culture song added to the Spirit of Troy repertoire is Cobra Starship's "Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)".
While most USC opponents complain that the USC band only plays one song, they in fact add at least one pop song each year to their playlist--with everything from Ricky Martin to Gwen Stefani.
The move may be a good omen for Cobra Starship, too. USC and Fleetwood Mac made "Tusk" the only college marching band to win a Grammy Award.

This is a poor attempt to capture the glorious marriage of the highest and lowest brows of comedy displayed week after week (when not on alcohol probation) by the Leland Stanford Junior University Marching Band. The trojans should be ashamed.
SC's band should preface its performances with the words "We do this in homage to those who do this kind of thing, but with much more alcohol, much cheaper coke, and a real sense of what doesn't suck."
O wait, they're wearing sunglasess? ... comment rescinded.

We do this in homage to that band from the farm who for the first time in many years has not sucked this season. Kudos to some great work at the football games this year. It has really added to your team's stellar play.
FIGHT ON!
