Jay Coulter already covered this, but it bears repeating - the Coaches Poll is an absolute joke. Georgia Tech went to Blacksburg this weekend and jumped all over the Hokies, leading 38-13 at one point in the second half. VT's two garbage time touchdowns still don't dimish the fact that it was a double digit final, and an absolute woodshedding of a top 15 team on their home turf. At no point in that game did VT ever look like they were better than GT, instead taking it on the chin for most of the afternoon. So the coaches poll comes out today, and GT is ranked ahead of VT - right? Oh wait, you mean that VT is #18 and GT is #20, despite exact same 4-1 records with GT having a resounding win on VT's home field? Somebody must have forgotten to tell the coaches to watch the game tape before they voted ... yeah, like the coaches have time to watch games. It's maddening that something as ridiculous and obviously poorly thought out as the coaches poll in it's current form plays a part in determing who gets to compete for the national championship. What a joke.

I'm sure GT success will be reflected in the BlogPoll (which is all that really matters of course.) I, for one, will have them in my Top 15.

I was linked back to your old post comparing ACC teams to Smurf characters. Doesn't it feel good to beat Papa Smurf? Has Georgia Tech in their Spacesuit reached the moon yet?
Personally, I think the LEM just landed on Saturday. To step on the moon, we need to take care of business against the rest of the ACC teams.

I voted Calvin Johnson 2 spots behind the Virginia Tech secondary on my Heisman ballot. CJ's good and all, but I still think the VT secondary is better, despite everything I saw.

Credit Bobby Ross for motivating, coaching and creating the atmosphere that Georgia Tech truly believes it can beat any team on any day. They do not have the talent across the board. They do however, know and play as a team with a common purpose - winning. An adminiring Va. Tech alum.

I agree Coaches poll is a joke, no way do they watch all the other teams. They are only going to try to build up the teams they play against to add to their "strength of scedule" and build up their own conference teams for the sake of the BCS joke.
Play-off please!!!!
