One of my favorite weekly articles is done by the good people at the Auburn Athletic Department. Each week they provide an update on how former Auburn Alumni are doing in the NFL. Currently, the Tigers have 31 players under NFL contracts. Some of them you have probably forgotten about. How many of you remember kicker, Rob Bironas? The Goshen, Kentucky native lettered in 1998 and now kicks for the Tennessee Titans. Sunday, he connected on a 22 yard attempt.
As for more familiar names, Carlos Rogers had a career high 8 tackles and one pass deflection in the Redskins 31-15 win over Houston. Ronnie Brown nearly topped the 100 yard mark, rushing for 90 yards in a 13-10 win over Tennessee. In addition to Bironas, the Titans also have former tight-end Cooper Wallace on the practice squad.
Carnell Williams continues to struggle in his sophomore season, rushing for only 48 yards in Sunday's 26-24 loss to Carolina. However, he did come away with a touchdown run.

Who would have thought that Damon Duvall would lead any league in scoring (CFL last year). It just shows the quality of athlete's AU has gotten lately. To further this, AU players had(under Dye) and now have again(under Tubs) a great reputation with NFL scouts. The book on AU is that their players are well taught fundamentally, have better than average footwork skills, and are COACHABLE, usually humble and ready to learn. Short book is "no problems from any Plainsman" and that is impressive. It goes back to Dye's "solid citizens" to Tubs "hard fighting soldiers". I am so proud of the program, not for it winning(which is nice, true), but for the quality of the young men wearing the burnt orange and navy blue.
Compared to "Let it slide" Shula and "mariJUWANa" over in Tuscaloser, we have a model program, and let's hope that continues!!
