The field of players who can still win the Heisman has winnowed a bit after week two. Expect even more clarity after week three:1. Brady Quinn, Notre Dame--Getting the bulk of the Heisman electorate to turn away from the preseason candidate is like trying to turn a battleship. In other words, it takes time, which is why Quinn is still the solid leader at this point.
2. Troy Smith, Ohio State--The Buckeye quarterback has entrenched himself as the main challenger to Quinn, so long as the Buckeyes keep winning.
3. Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma--If Peterson can key a Sooner win over Oregon, then he may leapfrog over Smith again. He's off to his best start ever.
4. Chris Leak, Florida--Has the Urban Meyer offense finally hit its stride in Year Two? We'll know more this Saturday. If Leak has another big day, he'll start to move up.
5. Kenny Irons, Auburn--He had a bad day against Mississippi State, but no one was watching so it didn't really hurt him. His big shot to make some noise will come this week against LSU.

The wheels will soon fall off the Brady Quinn - Notre Dame Bandwagon. They will get by Michigan, as Coach Carr's team chokes (again)in South Bend. The following week the Irish get over-confident and on the 40th anniversary of Ara's chickening out and playing for the tie, they get what they deserve....a loss against the Spartans in East Lansing.....
